Introduction

During the clinical affiliation for the first year, the student will be orientating
him/herself to the practical field of Physiotherapy, as well as gaining practical skills
in an authentic work environment, knowledge and insight into patient care. As a first
year student, he/she has introductory knowledge regarding evaluation and
treatment. During the three weeks that the student is in clinical affiliation, he/she
needs to complete assignments regarding evaluation, treatment and prevention
(Competencies Physiotherapist and Health Advocate). The student needs to work
with a patient or patients that fit within the dimension or level of the first year,
meaning the level of a beginner in low complex client situation, interventions,
autonomy and familiar context (see Competency Levels Physiotherapy). During the
clinical affiliation the student needs to discuss the assignments with the clinical
supervisor. All documents need to be written in English and uploaded on BlackBoard
Course Physiotherapy International Class Year 1 before the official deadlines. This
document contains a description of the assignments.
