Make a Balloon Globe

You need: Directions:


cut-out continent shapes (attached) 1. Blow up and knot the balloon.
9-inch blue balloon 2. Cut out the continent shapes.
scissors and glue stick 3. With the marker, draw the equator around the fattest part
a thick, black, permanent marker of the balloon.

a globe or world map (for reference) 4. Hold the balloon with the knot on top. Glue Antarctica to the
bottom of the balloon.
5. Find the part of Antarctica that points out like a finger.
This is the Antarctica Peninsula. Glue South America above the
Antactica Peninsula. South America touches the equator.
6. Glue North America above South America. North America
touches South America.
7. Put your hand on North America. Asia is exactly on the other
side of the balloon globe. Glue Asia-Europe so that it is almost
entirely above the equator.
8. Africa is below Europe. It almost touches Europe.

Find the top part of west Africa that juts out like an elbow.
