Lesson idea implementation:

For this lesson students will get on Kidspiration and play an educational game chosen by the teacher. I will
introduce the lesson by telling the students we are either going to the computer lab or having the laptop cart
in the class for the day. I will pull up kidspiration on the smartboard and talk the students into how to set up
their account and what they will be doing while on kidspiration. I will go through an example with the class so
everyone knows what they are doing and how to do it. If the school does not have kidspiration on each
computer/laptop we will do it as a group on the white board and allow students time to work the problem
out and then a student can go up and show their answer. If we use separate laptops, I will be walking around
checking progress and if they run into a question they can raise their hand and I will help as much as possible.
This assignment will help the students learn how to subtract on ways other than just paper and pencil. It
would be a new way for the students to learn. To extend the learning I will bring out actual blocks in another
lesson and let the students learn to subtract using actual blocks. I will get the feedback by checking the
summary on each student and put the grade in the grade book as a daily grade. I will conclude the lesson
when all of the students are done with their work and finished the lessons necessary for the students to
finish. We can go over any questionable questions.
