Air pollution has killed about 3.3 million people in one year around the world and 55,000

were killed in United States. Many of these pollutants are airborne pollutant (toxic

agents) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Currently main health issues that World Health

Organization (WHO) says that has led to deaths are cardiovascular diseases, respiratory

diseases, and cancers. 21st United Nation of Climate Change conference was held in Paris

with almost 200 countries presents. One of the main goals they talked about was reducing

carbon dioxide emission. Barack Obama made a clean power plan with his executive

powers, which will allows us to reduce carbon emissions to 32% by 2030. One the great

thing law passed around the world to help the Earth or health of people is Clean Air Act

which was passed in 1970. Clean Air Act has helped cut down carbon dioxide emission

to about 37% since 1975 till 2015 in industrials. Clean Air Act continues to help cut

down on carbon emission by cars, recycling energy and producing more power plants.

One of the most ozone polluted states in United States are California, Texas, Nevada,

Arizona, New York, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Earth blocks a heavy sunlight

rays called Ozone layer and to protect human health from cancer or burns, but due to an

increase in pollution has damaged Ozone layer and increasing the temperature of Earths

surface. A medical literature of Environmental Protect Agency wrote that in 2010 about

1,500 to 4,300 premature deaths were declared, 5,300 heart attack, and 58,000 asthma

attacks because of overheat temperature from damaged Ozone layer. Air pollution

continues to grow daily even with all the things producing to help decrease it and cause

many health issues and sometimes leading it to death. Comment [2]: Overall this source seems really good for
numbers to support your future writing about your topic,
you may want to add some bits about why this a good

United Nation Conference on Climate change was held in Kyoto, Japan, where about

10,000 policy makers and 150 countries were present. One of the main issues they were

focused on was changing human life/ behavior on Earths global warming. Many

members wanted to make a treaty on restraining wasting gases which could lead to

overheat Earths atmosphere and changing global weather to outburst heat waves and

droughts. The lower atmosphere of Earths temperature rises yearly from 0.3(deg) to

0.6(deg) Celsius since 1890. Meteorologist predicted that surface temperature of Earths

would rise from 1(deg) to 3.5(deg) Celsius. Without greenhouse effects, our Earths

temperature would be -18(deg) Celsius. Main pollution of gasses are from factories, cars

and etc., such as carbon dioxide which 60% cause of global warming, Halocarbons is

20% cause of global warming, Methane is 15% cause of global warming and finally,

nitrogen oxide is 5% cause of global warming. Many of these gases are emitted by car

pollution, industrial pollution and house pollution. Global warming causes higher

temperature of ocean water and rise in sea level which affects homes built by water. Most

polluted countries that are mainly affected are China, India, and Pakistan. These countries

need to cut down on pollution by at least 60% to decrease chances of health problems and

increase numbers of greenhouses to reduce air pollution. These countries are impacted

from air pollution from large industrial usage, cars, fireworks, etc. China and India are

two most populated countries in the world, which means more usage of motor vehicles

and causing more air pollution in the environment. Comment [3]: Good summary of the source, add some
more thoughts on how the source is reliable and
meaningful. This will make writing easier later on. Also

One of the biggest health issue ever discovered related to global warming/ air pollution is able to pull from several resources

asthma. Asthma epidemic issue was caused by global warming/ air pollution, which

wasnt known until 1979 by National Institutes of Health (NIH). Asthma was more of an

impact on children than adults, in 1982, more than 5.3 million youngsters were diagnosed

with asthma. Many children who are from low- income/ homeless have more cases

reported for symptoms of asthma. Many time children wont understand that it is a

serious issue and probably not get treated for asthma. Many low- income children get

asthma through indoor air pollution because of terrible air vents systems and smoker

members in the house. Many families are not able to afford to repair their air vents or

they cannot quit smoking because of daily stress. A less than one year old boy named

Aaron had irregular cough, sounding more like he was choking but he was coughing and

wheezing, which are classic symptoms of asthma. Some health improvements that are

done since asthma epidemic is prescribing antibiotics either as pill or inhaler which are

more common and improve on their diet. These improvements have changed the response

of immune system and lessen the intake of medications. A study done in Germany

showed since they had a high rate in air pollution which showed increase in cases of

asthma or a respiratory disease. Many of the high rates were skewed toward indoor air

pollution mainly smoking, fireplace (burning coals) and gas air vents. One of the great

ways to prevent high cases of asthma is by educating patients and students in adolescents

on recognizing asthma symptoms and way to prevent it home mainly. Comment [5]: Only issue is same as before, more

China is considered one of the most polluted countries in the world because of their

increase in economy. Since China wanted to increase their economy they had to start with

industries, by construction and making products. This has helped boom Chinese

economy. Chinas air pollution is known for thick smog in the cities, but they are

decreasing their pollution gradually every year. India is another country that has high

pollution for many years. Even though they been on top for many years, India is one of

those countries that doesnt do much about it since its already a middle- income country.

Indias increase in pollution is mainly due to large usage of fireworks because of festival

purposes. There are 62 units in PM 2.5 in India which is fairly high comparing number to Comment [6]: Very interesting

other countries. There are 68 deaths per 100,000 people from air pollution in India. India

is considered one the largest pollution in the world which mean more motor vehicle usage

and causing more pollution. Pakistan is another country that has high rate in pollution is

because Pakistan a developing country which mean more uses of industries to create a

higher economy for future betterment. China, India, and Pakistan are top countries who

have high rates in air pollution, deaths because of pollution and large use of carbon
Comment [7]: Overall your sources are solid and listed
emission from transportation. correctly. I suggest adding more thoughts and opinions
about each source instead of solely summarizing each
one. You have a good topic to write about with lots of
resource available.
