Slide 1:

This graph shows how the US religious landscape is

constantly changing. The decline further proves our original

project statement that US society is moving away from

religion. 6.7% more people became unaffiliated, while religion

lost 4.4% of the US population.

This graphic shows a very wide range of religious US citizens through the years. The only

groups that gained people were the none, undesignated, Christian, and other specific categories.

The other specific includes all of the non-traditional religions that would have been formed after

1948. I believe the increase in Christianity followers is not due to society becoming more

religious but the fact that there is twice the population in the US today (325 million), as opposed

to 1948 (125 million).

This chart provides an interesting source to analyze when talking about the disassociation of

religion in the US. If there is a 45% increase in Muslims in the US, then why in our society is

there a feeling of detachment from religion? One million more people is no small number in the

US, but we just arent seeing any more religion in anything through society.
