Subject: Job Application Package Analysis
Date: Oct.8.2017

New York University Stern Full-Time MBA Program

My first job application package is preparing for a position in NYUs Stern MBA program. This
program is suited for students who wants to specialize in business through the two years
education, along with summer internship opportunities. This program is very appealing to me
because I am interested in international trade. On the other hand, the Stern School of Business
is a famous institution with long history as well as its MBA program is ranked as number twelfth
in the U.S., which indicates the high-quality program and the valuable alumni network.

Stern appreciates those talented graduates who possess both intellectual and emotional
strength (IQ + EQ), for more specifically, students who turn their idea into reality and inspire
others around them. So, the admission committee will evaluate candidates across three
dimensions: academic profile, professional achievements, and personal characteristics.

In order to impress my audience, I plan to use my education background and work experience
to prove my capability. However, English is not my native language, so I find it is harder to
fashion my resume and cover letter in a formal tone and to use concise wording. Therefore, I try
to deliver my content as clearly as possible while being modest. Additionally, showing my strong
internship background will help display my potential in business, which may help me give a
good impression to admissions.

In the cover letter, I expand the work experience section by adding an example in order to
explain my qualification in a deeper level. In this example, I not only engaged in the completed
selling process from start to finish, but I also helped my team foster sustainable, reciprocal
collaboration. This example proves that I am a person who can transform my idea into real
profits and inspire my teammates, which corresponds to Sterns core values.

In the resume, I initially display a series of information about my education as an academic

profile, including school information, grades, and completed courses related to an MBA
program. Whereas the second resume has a section about my skills and activities, and I only
introduce my academic and work background. Furthermore, I do not have a remarkable GPA so
work experience appears directly after education. It constitutes the largest portion of my resume
in order to make up for my less competitive GPA. I also list my work experience chronologically
except orientation leader and vice president because those two are not interns but can
represent my ability and characteristics as well. Because of Stern will consider worldwide
applicants, I would use more space to show extra details of my previous internships rather than
add an activities section in a two-page, limited space resume. This organization can give
audiences a more clear view of my experience and prove my capability powerfully.

Wyndham Vacation Resorts - Asia Pacific: Marketing Alliance Manager

The second job package is organized for applying a position of marketing alliance manager
provided by Wyndham Vacation Resorts. Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific branch is a
part of Wyndham Worldwide Group, running a chain of resorts across Australia, Fiji, and
Thailand. I became interested in international trade before I even entered college, and I also
believe that people will invest more money and time on entertainment in the future. So I always
dream about how I could eventually operate my own business about entertainment. This goal
makes me think this job position is a good start for me.

Wyndham is seeking a dedicated and committed graduate to join the company. According to the
job description, a marketing alliance managers role is contact with business partners regularly
through travel, searching for new business opportunities and stabilizing existing partnerships.
The key position criteria includes business negotiation experience, fluent English and Mandarin
skills, and strong leadership. In this job package, I try to impress my audience, which is the
Human Resources department of the company, by emphasizing on work experience along with
activities and skills, because this job position does not require great research ability.

In the cover letter, I display both my education and work experience corresponding to the
requirements. I point out in the education portion that I have received education in both the U.S.
and China, which can help me prove my linguistic skills and this background is an advantage for
global travel, too. Also, I stress my negotiation and selling skills by describing an example from
my internship.

In my resume, the work experience at Penn State is placed into the activities section and details
are omitted because the Human Resource department prefers two to three months internship or
long-term experience instead of a part-time job, where, based on my previous job applying
experience, less skills are developed.

This job application shows my education and internships are transferrable to NYUs MBA
program, and this packages emphasis is on my ability.

internship experiences demonstrate my qualification for enrolling into your MBA program starting in fall
2018.

learner. High evaluation standards set by my experienced instructors reinforces my learning ability and
guarantee my understanding of concepts and principles.

All of the work experience listed on my resume prove the evidence of my skills, but the most important is
the experience at Glodon Software Company. During two months of internship experience, I participated
in the process of selling, installing, and after-sale services in a business relationship with Beijing
University of Technology, one of the most famous universities in China interested in building a laboratory
for their architecture majored students. Additionally, my team designed and built a sustainable

annual competition of architectural related projects, inviting famous professionals in the architectural field
as judges. Such an activity can help students at the Beijing University of Technology gain useful
suggestions for their projects. This competition can also publicize the companys education services and
help the company become authoritative in the architectural education market.

From NYUs website I have learned about Sterns requirements. The spirits and values I found are exactly
what Im looking for in an educational institution. I have attached my resume, which contains relevant
information about my past experiences. If you would like to set up an interview or are interested in details
of my other experiences, please contact me through any method I listed. Thanks for your time and
consideration.
