General Business

1. 6:55 p.m. Call Meeting to Order and Assign minutes

2. 7:00 p.m. Approve Agenda & Meeting Minutes – Re-Examine Revised April
minutes, as discussed in the May meeting. Approve May minutes.

3. 7:15 Remaining Funds are as follows:

These figures may potentially be revised upwards due to NRP recalculation of
allowances for neighborhoods.

1. 7:20 p.m. Seward Neighborhood Enhanced Recycling Project Update - Mike

2. 8:15 p.m. Toxics Reduction/Air Quality Projects


Pesticide/Lawn Chemical Reduction plans – Ricky and David Weiss have
proposed a comprehensive plan to educate neighbors about the health and environmental
impacts of pesticides and other yard chemicals. They have done extensive preliminary
work on this and are ready to move ahead on several specific measures.

Subsequent plans are to address other air quality issues later on.

3. 8:30 p.m. Minnesota Solar Tour – October 2, 2010 – Discussion - will other
residents or the Seward Coop be participating? Eight volunteers would be necessary for
the Environment Committee to participate.

4. 8:40 p.m. Updates -


Hiawatha Power Line Plans, HERC expansion, power pole issues
Energy Conservation/Renewables - Community Energy Services - Home Energy
Visits available for Seward residents. Sign on with Center for Energy & Environment,
Seward residents are eligible to participate in Community Energy Services!
Information has previously been e-mailed to Environment List members and SNG staff
about this and about the Seward NRP Housing Program. To qualify for a home visit, you
must attend a workshop.
