MUS 243 Final Project


Intended Level: High school
Purpose:

Students will use their knowledge of Soundtrap to create a project that exemplifies
their proficiency with it
Students will critically think about what makes a remix or mash-up good
Goals:

Students will discover links between genres of music


Students will understand what makes certain genres of music special
Resources:

School-Issued computers and headphones for in-class work. Students are expected
to do the majority of this project outside of class.

Basic Musicianship Skills

o Students will have already learned the program in this theoretical class

Mash-Up Project
In this project, you will be using Soundtrap to mix together 2 or more songs of different
genres together (Ex: Rap and Opera; Jazz and Metal) to create a mix that flows well together.
The Project must be at least 64 measures long and must contain an intro, outro, and
hook.
After making your mix and presenting your mix, you will write a short two paragraph
reflection detailing how you came to make your mix as well as what you may have learned or
come to understand while doing this project.
