In my first day, I arrived 7:11 a.m. on construction site. Our project manager called as a Junior Civil Engineer.
I attended the toolbox together with my co OJTs on the site. Toolbox are conducted every morning to
addressed all the concerns of the project manager, safety officers, staffs, and construction workers are
addressed and they have morning exercises so that they have energy to do their work.
After the toolbox, my supervisor Engr. Jo Anne Ferrancullo oriented us what Quality Control Department tasks
Details of Training Activity on the site. She discussed and explained to us the general notes on masonry and concrete blocks. The notes
contents are the tables for wall reinforcement and the placement of the lintel beams. She elaborated to us
where we can apply the contents of the notes on the site.
After she finished the discussion, I asked her if what is my assigned task for that day, she just told me to
observe the site first and be familiarize with the units of each floor.

In my second day on construction site, my supervisor Engr. Jo Anne Ferrancullo assigned me to punch list
Tower 1 10th floor. She gave me the floor plan of 10th floor and told me to punch list the beams and columns
if it is unrectified, wavy corner, or there is crack. I have punch list from unit 1 up to unit 40.
After I identified and noted all the problems from all the units that needs to be fix or complete I gave the all the
data to my supervisor and observed the workers on how they place the concrete hollow blocks and the

of the punch list of the beams and columns and emailed all the pictures to my supervisor as arrived home.

In my third day on construction site, my supervisor Engr. Jo Anne Ferrancullo assigned me to monitored and
checked the zocalo and concrete hollow block (CHB) of Tower 1 11th floor to 19th floor. I asked my supervisor
what zocalo is, and she told me that it is a concrete without hollow blocks and can founded in the toilet and
bathroom and its height from the floor is 0.3m.
I highlighted the units with finish CHB and zocalo for every unit and those on going. I have monitored the

In my fourth day on construction site, I was assigned to compiled and sort all the punch list of 8th floor of tower
1 and 2. I sorted and compiled the punch list for masonry, skynet (water line, sewage), and harmonics
(electrical line and outlets). I started compiling the harmonics, which has a lot of punch list both tower 1 and 2
and last is the skynet, which has a less punch list compared to harmonics.
I have identified the rough finished, unrectified wall, and exposed pipes. After I compiled and sort I have printed

In my fifth day on the site, my supervisor taught me on how to make an accomplishment report for concrete
hollow blocks, skim coat and plaster in all unit. She assigned me to monitor, check, and update the
accomplishments in all units of Tower 10th, 11th, 15th, and 16th. She explained and showed to me the difference
between a skim coat and a plaster. Plaster is a soft mixture of lime with sand or cement and water for
spreading on walls, ceilings, or other structures to form a smooth hard surface when dried, while skim coat is
a thin coat of joint compound that you can use to repair or smooth damaged walls and it applied after the

Before skim coat is applied, the wall and the ceiling should be smooth and does not have a balance of work.
Based on my monitoring of the four floors in Tower 1, 10th floor has the most accomplished unit compared to
other floor that we have monitored.

Tower 1 for harmonics

In my sixth day on the site, my supervisor and I went to 11th floor of Tower 1 where the installation of steel
bars reinforcing bars started after completing the installation in 10th floor. She told me that the hole should be
10 cm deep and 40 cm distance from other reinforcing bars horizontally. The reinforcing bars placed on the
corners and on the intersections should be 16 mm diameter while 10 mm diameter reinforcing bars used after
the 16 mm diameter. Before they drilled a hole by using an auger, they are required to clean the area so that
the epoxy they are going to place at the end part of the reinforcing bars will stick at the hole.

After lunch break, my supervisor told me that I have a new task for that day since I will be staying 8 hours on
the site. She told me to compile and sort the punch list for 12th floor of tower 1 for harmonics. I only punch list
the harmonics since it has a lot of balance of work especially the outlets, and I categorized the balance of their
work as unrectified wall. We categorized it as unrectified wall since they did not fix the plastering of their
electrical pipes and outlets.

In my seventh day, my supervisor assigned me to update the monitoring of the accomplishments of Tower 1
8th, 11th, 14th, and 15th floor. We have highlighted the units with accomplishments for zocalo, concrete hollow
blocks, and plaster in the key plan for every unit of that floor level. After we have monitored the unit 1- 40 we
repeated checking it just to make sure that we make it right. These balances are been computed for the billing
with the other contractors of the fame residences project.
Details of Training Activity After lunch break, I assigned to compile and sort the punch list for 12th floor of Tower 1 unit 1-40 for masonry.
In this floor, I have observed that it has a lot of punch list compared to 8 th floor especially on the masonry.
After I compiled it, I saved it to my supervisors flash drive and told her to double check the caption that I put
on below the picture of every unit.

In my eight day on the site, my supervisor assigned me to punch list of Tower 1 for harmonics. While sorting
the pictures for punch list, I have noticed that 14 th floor has a lot of punch list on electrical works so I told my
supervisor about this. I have marked the area where there are a balanced of work. I have a remarked for each
unit and arranged it in chronological order.
After I have compiled and sorted the punch list for harmonics, Ive noted which units has a lot of punch list in

because we are required to make it before leaving the site and it should be sign by the project manager and

In my ninth day on the site, my supervisor doesnt have any task for me on that day. When the engineering
department heard about it they asked permission to my supervisor if I can help them to compute for the area
of the accomplishments. She did not hesitate and I was very happy because I will have a task on that day that
I can write on my accomplishment report. First, we went to 14 th floor which is the higher floor that we need to
measure those accomplishments.

last is the skim coat. Most of the units has the same area of concrete hollow blocks and plastered wall. After
we measured all the units of the floors we have recorded all the measurements of height and width of the
accomplishments in every unit and went back to the office. After we have computed for the area we gave it to
Engr. Mitch to recheck our computations.

In my tenth day on construction site, I was assigned to took pictures, compiled and sorted all the punch list of
15th floor of tower 1. I have taken pictures of the balance in plastering of the electrical works like the outlet,
the main circuit and its pipes. I also took the punch list for unrectified wall, rough finish, and wavy corner in
every unit. As I took picture, I am listing how many pictures in every unit I took.
After I took pictures for the punch list, I rename the picture I have taken in every unit on the desktop and

On my eleventh day on the site, my supervisor told me to monitor, check, and update the accomplishments
of the skim coat on ceiling and wall. I highlighted the unit with un update with a green highlighter so that she
can easily recognize which unit has an update on the skim coat of wall and ceiling. I started updating on 20th
floor, I went to that floor level by riding a improvise elevator which they called it alimak, because it is easy to
go down compared from going up. Most of the floors I have monitored, checked, and updated have many
accomplishments on skim coat.
In the afternoon, I have submitted the key plan with an updates and after it she told me to punch list 11th floor
to 14th floor of tower 1. She also told me that I only needed to punch list the beam, column, and ceiling. I
have noticed that most of the units are rough finish and unrectified. I also noticed that the column and ceiling
needed to be rectify and smoothened. After it, I gave my key plan with a punch list of 11th to 14th floor to my
supervisor.

On the twelfth day on the site, my supervisor told me update, monitor, check and measure the
accomplishments of the concrete hollow blocks, plastered wall, skim coat, rebar installed, and stiffener column
in 14th floor and 15th floor of tower 1. We only measured the accomplished part of the wall. We have listed
all the measurements on the table given by our supervisor.
I have learned what is the use of a stiffener column, because I asked my supervisor why they are putting an

additional support to columns at beam connection locations. They are added when the strength of the column

Description of Daily Training Measured the stairs with

Supervisor
In my thirteenth day on construction site, our supervisor told us to measure the nosing of the stairs. She told
us that the nosing of the stairs measures 1350 mm length. We have started measuring the nosing on the
ground floor up to 27th floor of tower 1. We have listed all the measurements in a clean sheet of bond paper.
We have noticed that some of the nosing had a big difference in measurement compared to the exact
measurement that is on the plan. We have started measuring the stair 1 near EDSA and then the stair 2,
which is near the elevator area.
Due to President Rodrigo Dutertes state of the nation address, classes are suspended in Quezon City. We
took this opportunity to maximize our free time on the site. After lunch, we have continued measuring the
nosing. We also noticed that in the stair 1 they only finished placing nosing from ground floor up to 7 th floor,
while in the stair 2 they finished placing nosing from ground floor up to 5 th floor. After we have measured all
the nosing and the stairs we have rewrote all the measurement for our supervisor to be able to read it easily.

fixed and finished on one day of working.
After lunch, we have a new tasked. Our supervisor told us to measure the nosing of the 2 nd, 3rd, and 5th floor

We also noticed that the number of steps of the stairs before landing are the same from 8 th floor to 27th floor.
The stairs from ground floor to second floor had 34 steps, which is many compared to the other floors of that
building.

measurements for balance of work, we went to the office to compute for the area.
All of the measurements for example the length and height of the balance of the work are being wrote in a

computed for the area, we add all the balance of work for concrete hollow blocks and separate computation
for the total balance of work for plaster.

to measure and noted the units with a big difference in measurement based on the plan. We have listed all
the data and after it, we gave it to our supervisor.

In my twentieth day on construction site, Engr. Abe Almalves the project manager of JJTAN told us to list the

belong to the subcontractor group or in an admin group. We indicated on the list the date they have started to
work in the unit. We also wrote on the plastered wall the last name on the foreman they are belong with.
After lunch, my supervisor told me to supervise the laborers and mason in 19th floor of tower 1. I have checked

used the shotcrete machine to place concrete on the wall. Shotcrete is concrete (or sometimes mortar)
conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface, as a construction
technique. In the 19th floor they did not used concrete hollow blacks, they purely used shotcrete to placed
concrete to make a partition walls, and even in the toilet and bath area.

who worked on 15th floor, and listed if they belong to subcontractor group or an admin group. We have totaled
the number of masons, and laborers on that floor level. We also listed how many mason and laborers working
in every unit in order to know if they need to transfer other workers in other unit that need to accomplish. Engr.
Abe told us that it every unit should have a maximum of 1 mason and 1 labor if they need to finished a few
balanced of work.
After lunch, I updated and monitored the accomplishments for zocalo, concrete hollow blocks, and plaster in
tower 1 7th-14th floor. I noted the units with many accomplished works for every floor level of tower 1. After it,
I gave it to my supervisor.

In my twenty-second day on construction site, my supervisor told us to measure the nosing and elevation of
the stairs. The elevation of the stairs should be 1000mm. Some of the elevation of the stairs we have measured
matched with the given measurement while other stairs measurement have a little difference with the given
measurement of an elevation. We have listed all the measurements for elevation and separated the
measurement for the nosing of the stairs.
Details of Training Activity When we measured the stair 7 and 8, it does not have a nosing yet. They started to install a nosing on stair
1, 2, 3, and 4, which are fire exits of tower 1 and 2. The stairs of 5th-7th floor are been topped, and leveled with
the height of the nosing.

We have listed all the units with bulkhead ceiling. Most of the units in 9th floor have an accomplished bulkhead
except for the unit 17, 18, 39, and 40. My supervisor told us that the purposed of the bulkhead is to conceal
the plumbing pipes, electrical wires, duct work or exhaust fans.
They have installed the bulkhead ceiling on the kitchen, bedroom, and in the hallway .We have noticed that

with their masonry works. I have watched the workers mixing the water, cement, and gravel on the 19 th floor
and I asked my supervisor what are the concrete mixture ratio, and she told me it is1:2:4. Most of the workers
plastered the wall and others installed concrete hollow blocks.

estimate the 24th-41st story building. We based our computation of area of the exterior walls in the
measurements in the plan approved by ASYA, the designer of SMDC.

the measurements in the plan that we use for the computation of the area. After we measured the area of the
balanced of work, we went to the office to compute for the area. We computed for the total area of balanced
of work for every floor to determine the needed materials on every floor level.
After lunch, we estimated the needed materials for every floor. We used the book cost and estimate by Max
Fajardo as a guide on how to determine the number of materials needed. We used the total area that we have
computed earlier. We estimated the needed pieces of 4 inches or 6 inches concrete hollow blocks, pails of
vibro / white sand, and bags of cement.

TECSON, and PAMPAG, etc. We fastened all the papers of a subcontractor in a separated folder from other
subcontractor to find their billing papers easily in case they need it.

floor of tower 1. She have printed the unit number with floor level, and we have tagged it in the plastered wall
on the hallway of each unit. The unit number are tagged, so that when we updated the accomplishment of
works we can identify easily which units we monitor and we no longer need to count the units from the end
unit.
Details of Training Activity After lunch, we have measured the nosing of the kitchen and nosing in the door opening of each unit in 10th-
12th floor of tower 1. We measured the nosing in order to check if the workers followed the measurements
based on the plan approved by ASYA. We wrote the measurements on the key plan of each floor level and
rewrote all the measurements on a clean copy of the key plan.

some of it still need to be rectified.
After lunch, we have updated and monitored the accomplishments for concrete hollow blocks and plaster of
8th-20th floor of tower. Most of the units in 10th- 20th floor has a balanced of work. As we monitored the
accomplishments, we have noticed that some of the units in 11 th and 12th floor of tower 2 did not follow the
general notes in masonry. The steel man installed wrong diameter of reinforcing bars in the corners,
intersection and in the opening of the door. They already installed 10mm diameter of reinforcing bars and
poured concrete mix for zocalo so they need to proceed to the installation of the concrete hollow blocks. I
talked to the foreman of the mason on 11 th and 12th floor and told him that they should use 16mm for every
intersection, opening, and corners, and he told me that he will follow this to the other units which is not yet
started.
Some of the partitioned wall was marked by the vice president of JJTAN, this are the walls that are not aligned
and did not follow the layout of the surveyor. This are partitioned walls that cannot be correct by thickening
the plaster. That are the walls that are needed to be destroy after it they need to install a new concrete hollow
blocks and follow the lay out.

In my 32nd day on the construction site, I assigned to the operation. We supervised the workers in their
masonry works, and asked the foreman the needed materials. Because its holiday, there is no alimak so
they cannot carry the materials up a height or a floor level, where the foreman who requested for the materials
can be found. As we supervised, we have noticed that the plastered wall of some units exceeded to the layout
plan so we as a junior civil engineers told Engr. Jearf about that, and he asked some workers to fix it.
After lunch, we have listed all the materials needed for the next day. It includes the number of pails and what
