Week 1

Sunday 24/9/2017:
It was my first week in Al Sundos Kindergarten and I was very excited to start
my TP in this school to know and learn more about teaching skills and dealing with
the children. I have seen Ms. Amna (School TP Coordinator), she greet me and I
introduced myself. After that, I meet Ms. Alya (My MST), she was smiling and
welcomed me in a nice way which let me feel comfortable and happiness because she
will become my MST. Then I meet the children and it was very nice to meet these
cuties children because their reaction to my presence was positive. In the end of the
day I meet my MST to describe the booklet for her.

Monday 25/9/2017:
My friend Amal and I we went from early morning to the staff room to meet
the other teachers and present ourselves for them. They welcomed us and talk with us
in a nice way which help me to feel more comfortable to come to AL Sundos. Then
we went to our classes to observe the MSTs routine before the children arrive. Then
I completed my day in observing the children and the MST. The observation will helps
me to identify the childrens routine and there characters.

Tuesday 26/9/2017:
This is my third day in Al-Sundos kindergarten, I collected the documents that
I will use it for my e-portfolio. For example, I asked my MST to print the class
schedule and the names list. In the end of the day, I went to Ms. Amna (School TP
Coordinator) to complete one of the booklet tasks which is school profile. Then I spoke
with my MST to plan for the first lesson that I will teach it in the next week.

Wednesday 27/9/2017:
In this day, I asked my MST to give me a copy of the curriculum because I need
to identify the themes, unite and the activities that I should apply it for each lesson.
Also, getting a copy of the curriculum will helps me in planning to achieve the learning
outcomes in my lesson. Through looking into the curriculum, I identified that the
theme took two weeks to implement it. Also, all the subjects are engaging to achieve
the learning outcomes. Which mean the English and Arabic teachers should
collaborate to create the activities in order to develop the children learning and achieve
the objectives in the curriculum.

Week 2

Sunday 1/10/2017:
During this day, I asked my MST to sit together in the break and discuses about
the lesson that I will teach it tomorrow. The discussion included the materials that I
will use it in the lesson. Moreover, the MST illustrated to me the point that I should
focus on it during the lesson. For example, remember the children about the class rules
if they become noisy. Also, I should keep my eyes contacting with the children through
the lesson to manage them. I wrote her advises in my note book to remind them and
apply it in each lesson that I will teach it.

Monday 2/10/2017:
Today I taught my first lesson which is counting from 1 to 5. I felt happy and
satisfied with my performance in teaching because the students were active with me
and answer my questions. In addition, the students interacted with my activities and
completed quickly.my lesson flows smoothly because I prepared my materials and
managed the time by writing my lesson plan and follow it. In addition, I put each
activity in separate tables and made sure all the materials available for each group.
Also, my MST gives me a feedback which is the lesson were effective but in the next
lesson I should add some songs or presentations to attract the children.

Tuesday 3/10/2017:
This day I illustrated to the teachers about my research that I should do it for
my graduation. I took the promotion from the administrations and the teachers to
implement the data collections that I chose it for my research. The data collections are
intervening the teacher and observing the children. I chose the TP period to implement
my research because it focus on the affection of the art activities on the childrens
learning. The teachers agree to interview them and to observe the children during the
art activity time.

Wednesday 4/10/2017:
Lets do a color events. This day is for the red color. The children wear the
dresses that include red color to enjoy the event. All the classes are canceled due to
the event. The parent joined us in the event and celebrate with us. Some of the parents
created small giveaway for the children that represent the red color. Also, the teacher
created some games related to the event and support the children skills. For example,
they create a searching activity which let the children run to collect the red objects.
Thus, that develop the childrens motor and fine skills.

Week 3

Sunday 8/10/2017:
In the break, I interviewed My MST about the affection that happened to the
childrens learning through engaging them in the art activities. During the interview,
I asked the teacher open-ended questions to get the information that I need to support
my research. However, interviewing the teacher didnt went well because the teacher
didnt gave a full description of her answer because she had other works s uch as
planning and evaluating. So, I solved this issue by giving her the paper of questions
and ask her to do it whenever she has time.

Monday 9/10/2017:
It is the time to observe me. My MCT observed me during the first session. I
started the lesson adding a role play show by using a mask of a tiger then I asked the
children open-ended questions during the role play activity. I appl ied asking open-
ended questions method because I learned from Dr. Pauline the important of it which
are develop the childrens cognitive, imagination and solving problem skills. Also,
open-ended questions let the children engage into the role play and show their talents.
During the circle time activities, my children recognize the main concept of the
lesson which helps them to apply the activities easily. The activities were fit in the
children abilities. Also, using accommodation activities let the naughty students
interact with their friends without any problems or misbehave.

Tuesday 10/10/2017:
The class for this day cancelled because the children went into a trip to the
Cinema festival for the children. The trip was boring and the children didnt enjoy
the whole trip except printing their pictures on piece of candy. The reason that the
children felt boring because the school didnt do any kind of booking for the childrens
activities. They only send the children to watch the free moves without engaging them
in the next activities. Also, after the moves finished. The children sat on the tables for
a long time and waiting for the buses while the children from other schools are playing
and engaging in deferent activities.

Wednesday 11/10/2017:
It was the day for observing the children to collect the information for my
research. The observation happened during the art activities. I started to observe the
children while there are engaging in the art activity that created from the MST.
However, I saw the teacher provide samples of the activities in order to complete it
and that impact on the results that I got. Since the samples effect on the children
performance due to the controlling of the teacher and prevent the creativity. I solved
this problem by creating art activity. Then, I described it for them. They engaged in
solving the activity depending on their knowledge and creativity. The second problem
was in interviewing the teacher.

Week 4

Sunday 15/10/2017:
The interesting thing that happen today is listening to the children during the eating
time. I noticed that the children during the eating time they talk about what they learned. Also,
they link their life experience with what they learned. It was a nice observing time because I
recognised their characters which will help me to identify more about their abilities and
thinking skills.

Monday 16/10/2017:
This is the first time for my MCT to observe me. On my opinion, the lesson moved
smoothly and the children enjoyed the activities. However, my MST told me that I should
improve my activities to achieve the learning outcomes for the children. So, I listened to her
and I wrote a note in my book to improve it. Also, I followed my opinion but in the same time
I used my MCT advice because she know better than me. Thus, I will enrich my teaching style
through taking my MCT advice and experience.

Tuesday 17/10/2017:
In this day, the teachers and I we were preparing for the parents meeting. First
we organized the children files to show it for the parents as evidence of their childs
development and performance. It was a busy day because the parents came from early
morning and they started to ask about their children and who they can help the teacher
to develop their abilities at home.

Wednesday 18/10/2017:
I taught a lesson about the baby animals. I started the lesson by applying the
routine because it help the children to focus and be organized. I recognized the
children were active because in the beginning of the lesson they do some movement
then I told them if they behave in a good way we will listen to a baby animals song
and do some extra movement and acting. That influence my children to practice and
participate during the lesson.
After the Circle time activity, they moved to their tables to start their activities.
They completed the activities quickly because they were excited to act like the animals
during listening to the song. However, before the song I let the special choose one of
the baby animals which are kitten, puppy, Bunny and chick then they will act l ike
them then the children will guess the name of the baby animals.
The lesson moved smoothly because the children committed t he rules and
engaged during the activities. That happened because I applied lots of performance art
activities which helped the children to express their knowledge and developed their
abilities.

Week 5

Sunday + Monday + Tuesday (22 to 24/10/2017):

These three days my MST was absent because she is sick. The administration
asked me to take them but I told them that we are not allowed to watch the children
without any teacher from the school. So, they divided the children to groups and sent
each group to one of the teacher. My role in these three days was to start the circle
time with them and reminded them about the role before they move to the diff erent
classes. Also, I managed the children in the assembly, restaurant and organized them
before they leave to the buses.

Wednesday 25/10/2017:
In this day, the children went on a trip to visit the zoo. The children enjoyed
the trip because they identify new kinds of animals. This trip aimed to develop the
children knowledge about the animals and their names.

Week 6

Sunday 29/10/2017:
I was very sick. So, I didnt attend to the school. However, to commit the
professionalism, I sent an e-mail to my MST and MCT to inform them that I will not
attend today.

Monday 30/10/2017:
I taught a lesson which is about the 2D triangle shape. The children interacted
with me during the circle time which encourage them to be ready to accept new
knowledge. The story were effective because through it the children answer my open-
ended questions and identify the 2D triangle. Also, the children told me where they
can find a2D triangle in our life.
For the future, I should develop the lesson plan by adding art performance art
activity which related to the shape to enhance the childrens knowledge t hrough
applying performance art activity.

Tuesday 31/10/2017:
In this day, my MST ask me to do the activities with the children during the
activity time. When I apply the activities, I was amazed and surprised because during
these activities the students were answered, describe and using the diff erent style of
counting without any help or instructions from me. Through observing my stud ents
when they do my evaluation activities, I recognized that I achieved my learning goals
and plan. The students were capable of applying the hands-on activities easily.

Wednesday 1/11/2017:
Today was the last observing of me from my MST and MCT. I applied the
transition successfully because the children move quietly and smoothly. The activities
that I created for the children effected on the children by developing their
understanding. My MCT asked me to develop my questioning method because that can
affect the childrens language. I wrote my MCT advice in the note book and I planned
to keep it in my PDP goals for the next semester.

Week 7

Sunday 5/11/2017:
This day I was in the collage to present about our program for the new
students who inter to the collage.

Monday 6/11/2017:
In this day the children attended to the library to do a workshop about the UAE.
There is no lessons for this day because the time is very short and the librarian want
to apply the activities with them and completed before the end of the school day. So,
the teacher did the circle time with them then they move to the library. They start the
workshop with a short video which introduce the UAE. During the event, I noticed
that the librarian asked the children open-ended questions to identify their
understanding of the workshop. That workshop was effective because the children
started to share the information that they learn it while they are waiting their parents
to pick them from the school.

Tuesday 7/11/2017:
This day I was in the collage to present about our program for the new
students who inter to the collage.

Wednesday 8/11/2017:
This is the last day of my teaching practice, I enjoyed being in this kindergarten
because it allow to enrich my teaching strategies. Also, interacting with the teachers
helps me to gain extra knowledge to be a successful teacher.
Before the end of the last day in Al Sundos Kindergarten, the children thanks
me and I thanks them and Ms. Alya because I had lots of fun during my TP. I enjoy
too much with the children in these seven weeks. In the end, we start to say bye and
some students start to hug me.
Coming to the school today was very difficult to me because it's the last day. I
will miss Ms. Alya and my lovely children. I wish all the best for my MST and my
sweet children.
