"Predictors of Health Behaviours in College Students." Journal of Advanced Nursing. 48.5

(2004): 463-474. Print.

This article is not so much about the healthiest diet that you can have in college but about

the unhealthy habits that a lot of college students get into. The article describes how having

freedoms in college can lead people down an unhealthy path involving smoking and drinking.

These are not good habits to have and neither of them are healthy by any means yet so many

college students do it. In this article it explains how people can end up doing these things

because of stress or the fact that they never had the ability to until this point. This article also

shows the negative effects of certain college habits.

I learned from this article that the unhealthy habits that may occur while in college can

have a large impact on your health later in life. It also taught me about perceived stress and

availability which could be what triggers college students into doing these risky behaviors. This

relates to my inquiry about healthy dieting because it talks about how unhealthy habits in college

can carry on to your later life which will make you stay unhealthy. I want to find the healthiest

diet and these risky behaviors that occur in college can jeopardize your healthy diet further down

the road.

This is a credible source because there were several authors who all work in the similar

field. The article was also peer reviewed so there were multiple different people who looked

over this article and agreed with what it was saying. All of these people who looked at this article

are respected in their field and dedicated their studies to this topic.

This video does a really good job at explaining the importance of all of the different

substances that can be found in different foods. It explains the importance of proteins, vitamins,

carbohydrates and many other things found in food. The video also does a good job at explaining

why it is important to find a diet and stick to it in order to see the desired results.

This video taught me that maintaining a healthy diet not only can make someone

healthier but it can also give someone more energy throughout the day. This video also acted as a

nice refresher course of high school biology to learn about the importance and functions of

different things in foods. It taught me how each vitamin is important and how it is useful to the

body.

This video is credible because they have professional dieticians in the video that study the

benefits of different food types and the beneficial properties they have. They also have people

that are doctors that have done research into diets and do research on the benefits of them.

Mediterranean Diet Plan: The World's Healthiest Diet. Fitness Magazine, 15 June 2015,

www.fitnessmagazine.com/weight-loss/plans/mediterranean/mediterranean-diet-plan-the-worlds-

healthiest-diet/.

This article is about a specific diet known as the Mediterranean diet which is composed

of fish, beans, herbs, nuts, and healthy oils. There isnt really any meat with this diet other than

fish but someone could get other foods to make up for it. This diet provides people with lasting

weight loss, strong healthy heart, longer life, improved eyesight, and more.

This article taught me about the effectiveness of the healthiest diet in the world. I

learned that a diet without meat aside from fish is a lot healthier than ones with meat. This article

also showed me about all the benefits of this diet that I had never heard of like improving

eyesight, reduced risk of Alzheimers, and diabetes prevention. Along with that, it was

interesting to see how things like this can be helped through your diet.

The website with the article has links at the bottom to related topics that go to more

professional and scientific websites. By providing links to more credible scientific websites, it

shows where they got their information from and it shows that the information they are sharing is

The article talks not only about dieting but the reasons why people might diet and making

sure that you are doing it the right way. Most people diet for 1 of 2 reasons, they either diet to

look more attractive or it is to be healthier. The article does a great job at explaining that dieting

is a good way to help avoid the risks of obesity or just being mildly overweight. This article also

goes into having self-control when you are dieting otherwise it could be pointless

This article taught me that 64% of people in a dieting program cited health concerns for

their reason to start dieting. Obesity and just being overweight can have some serious health risks

which is the reason so many enlist in dieting programs. I also learned that by restricting your

food intake, it will increase your longevity and it will slow your aging.

This source is peer reviewed and was written by Janet Polivy who works in the

Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto. This article was co-written with the

other author being Peter Herman who works in the same department at the same university.

Since these two work in the field it helps with credibility.

Tsai, Alan C. Dieting Is More Effective in Reducing Weight but Exercise Is More Effective in

Reducing Fat during the Early Phase of a Weight-Reducing Program in Healthy

Humans.

This article is about how both dieting and exercise are important for losing weight and

reducing fat. It explains how dieting helps reduce weight while exercise is better for reducing fat.

Overall both of these are necessary for getting the results that someone may want from a diet.

People cant expect the results they want if they use one of these and not the other so since each

of these things help with a variety of issues, its important that someone does both of these while

they diet

This article taught me that without working out you will still have the fat and it could

come back if you dont keep working with it. It also taught me that it is important to stick with a

plan so that you get into a cycle which will make the diet easier on you in the long run. The
Dennis 5

energy that you get from the dieting will help you have energy to do the exercise required to stay

in shape.

This article is credible because it is peer reviewed and it has been worked on by several

people in the same field.
