Birth control basically means preventing pregnancy. It could be done by stopping the production of eggs, stopping the sperms from reaching and fertilising the ovum and also stopping the implantation of the embryo in the uterus. On the other hand, there are several ways for the couples to prevents pregnancy as follows and we will start with females prevention first. Contraceptive pills This method called as Contraceptive pills. These pills is actually contain a combination of hormones which prevents the production of ova. Well these are taken by a woman every single day, for 21 days after their menstruation. Further more, this pills is 100% reliable if they follows the doctors instruction correctly. We should take note that this pills also has some side effects Intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD) Next will be intrauterine device (IUD). The device look like a plastic or copper wire coil where it fitted inside the uterus and can be left inside for 2-3 years. This device will prevents sperms from swimming up the uterus. But it can be removed for those who wants to get pregant. All these process should be done by a doctor. The rhythm method (natural method) Besides that, the rhythm or natural method also will prevents pregnancy. This method used by those who are believe that other contraceptive method or birth control are wrong. Some also believed that its against their religion. So, they will avoid having intercourse during fertile period because an egg is most likely to be present in the oviduct. But, there is disadvantage in this method where it will not be effective method for women with irregular cycle. Ligation We can called it as Tubal litigation. This method involves more complicated surgery than a vasectomy. Like a vasectomy, it is irreversible and usually carried out on a woman who does not want any more children. Lets look at the process. Well the middle parts of the oviducts are cut and the open ends are clipped or tied to stops the released ovum from getting into the oviduct. Condoms Now, lets have a view on the males. Condoms has been used from last time till this era. Even though, it sounds good but it will not be effective on its own and it must be used with other methods such as condoms or diaphragm. Vasectomy This method is also known as male sterilisation and it requires minor surgery. The sperm ducts will cut and then tied to prevent the sperms travelling from the testis to the urethra and penis. To make it simple, there will be no sperm released through the penis.
