Project CHAMAN
In order to provide strategic development to the horticulture sector, so as to
increase farmers income, a pioneer project called CHAMAN, has been launched
three years back by the Government.
This project is being implemented by Mahalanobis is National Crop Forecast
Centre (MNCFC) using remote sensing technology
The Post-Harvest damages of farmers would be significantly reduced by creation of
desired Post Harvest Infrastructures like cold storages
The Geo-Spatial Studies like crop intensification, orchard rejuvenation and aqua-
horticulture would further help the farmers to grow
Hunar Haats:
Hunar Haats are organised by Ministry of Minority Affairs under USTTAD
(Upgrading the Skills & Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development)
scheme.
The USTTAD scheme aims at preserving & promoting the rich heritage of the
traditional arts & crafts of the Minority communities. This is one of the flagship

APCERT:
APCERT (Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team) is a coalition of
CSIRTs (Computer Security Incident Response Teams), from 13 economies across
the Asia Pacific region. APCERT organizes an annual meeting called APSIRC
conference, and the first conference was held in March 2002, Tokyo, Japan.
Membership: Any CSIRT from Asia Pacific Region, who is interested to furthering

CERT-In (the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team) is a government-

What is it?

National Focal point for the TISC national network.

CIPAM will also act as the main intermediary between WIPO and TISC host
institutions and coordinate all the activities of the national TISC network.

What is it?
It is Indias first indigenously designed and developed Long Range Sub-Sonic
Cruise Missile which can be deployed from multiple platforms.
Key features:
Nirbhay is an all-weather low-cost long-range cruise missile with stealth and high
accuracy. The missile has a range of more than 1000 km.
The missile has the capability to loiter and cruise at 0.7 Mach, at altitudes as low as
100 m.

What is it?
It is a species of wild banana discovered recently in the Andaman and Nicobar
Islands.
Key facts:
The plant grows to a height of nine metres and bears an edible, sweet-and-sour
tasting fruit that is boat-shaped and has numerous bulb-shaped seeds.
Its conservation status has been declared as Critically Endangered as it has so far
been spotted in only two locations on the islands, each with 6 to 18 plants in a
clump.
WMO:
What is it?
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is a specialized agency of the
United Nations dedicated to meteorology (weather), climatology (climate),
operational hydrology (water) and other related geophysical sciences such as
oceanography and atmospheric chemistry.
The UNFCCC was adopted in 1992 at the Rio Earth Summit, which marked the
beginning of the international communitys first concerted effort to confront the
problem of climate change. Known also as the Rio Convention, the UNFCCC

A supernova is the explosion of a star. It is the largest explosion that takes place in

Crab Pulsar:
In the crab nebulas very centre lies a pulsar: a neutron star as massive as the Sun
but with only the size of a small town (such objects are known as compact
objects). The Crab Pulsar rotates about 30 times each second.
AstroSats recent achievement
AstroSat, Indias first dedicated multi-wavelength space telescope, has successfully
accomplished the extremely difficult task of measuring X-ray polarisation of the
Crab Pulsar,
which rotates about 30 times each second. This landmark measurement puts up a
strong challenge to prevailing theories of high energy X-ray emission from pulsars.

In line with the broader strategy and emphasis on preventive vigilance, the Central
Vigilance Commission (CVC) believes that the next level of systemic change can

Steps Taken:
Govt has taken massive step to capitalise PSBs in a frontloaded manner, to support
credit growth and job creation.

The balance would be raised by the banks themselves by diluting the governments

The TORA is an attempt to change in some ways the relationship between the
average normal citizen and the State.
TORA will require all departments to mandatorily place all citizen-facing rules on

beforehand.
All laws will have to be updated by the department while providing access to
history of the same webpage.
Once a department has shifted to the platform, it can be deemed TORA
compliant and citizens can be sure that the information is authentic and updated.

households across 4626 villages, and found the overall toilet coverage to be
62.45%.

What is no detention policy?

Stage-II : envisages, construction of Fast Breeder Reactors (FBRs) fuelled by
Plutonium produced in stage-I. These reactors would also breed U-233 from
Thorium.
Stage-III : would comprise power reactors using U-233 / Thorium as fuel.
