EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recently Thai people concern more on their health and tend to consume non-toxic fruits and vegetables but not
realized that the products they consumed contained pesticide residues which are a major effect to consumers due
to their negative health. What they consume in each day without considering the following health effects definitely
affects their healths in long term. However, there are also people who tend to consume organic products but it is
difficult to access. Most people do not know where to buy them even the supermarkets already provide some
organic products but there are just few so they stop finding it. Moreover, they misunderstand and have no skills in
choosing organic products so the products they got might not be the real organic.

When they choose the products, most of them cannot separate between non-toxic and organic products.
Non-toxic vegetables are produced with no pesticides but not a 100% safe from residues since there is a use of
chemical fertilizer to grow the products. Organic vegetables is processed in a natural method with no chemicals
and pesticides but only organic fertilizer and compost are used in the soil. Also use their existing herbs to
eliminate insects, making every process environmental friendly so the products are 100% natural and safe.
This affects to a higher production cost than other kinds of vegetables in the market but the shapes may not
looking as good as those that used pesticides because of the insect bites.

The advantages are the fresher, more delicious, longer storing, more nutritions products that truly come from
nature. Moreover, the farmers would be healthier in which theres no dangerous chemicals in organic farming and
they would get higher income compared to the conventional farming that the products are in low prices.

So how would we know that those products are 100% organic?

Me Farm Suk is an online marketplace that connects between farmers and consumers. We gather many different
organic products such as fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, processed food, etc. which our products are guaranteed
from famous organic organizations including Organic Thailand, USDA, IFOAM, and ACT. Moreover, there are
organic events we will open for consumers to directly meet the farmers.

MIDDLE MAN
Effect on Price
Regardless of the important role they play, there are some disadvantages to having intermediaries in the distribution channel. As the goods
are exchanged from one intermediary to the other, their prices inflate. The rationale behind higher prices is to cover expenditures on the
goods such as warehousing, insurance and transportation costs. Intermediaries are also out to make profits, hence they have to include
some profit markup in the sales. Consumers then bear the price of having intermediaries in the channel.

PRIMARY RESERCH 6
From interviewing the farmers who attended Bangkok Farmer Market, it revealed the reasons that they changed from chemical
farming to organic farming. The main reason was that it is difficult to find organic vegetables in Thailand so they were inspired to
make it themselves. The minor reason was the aim to provide consumers with safe products for their health. Most of the farmers
who were at the event have their own farms and they distribute the products through their stores, selling in big stores, online
channels including Line, Instagram, platforms, and the channel that is popular recently which is events. It is not only increase
sales but also to promote the brands and expand customers base.

Online purchasing has become popular in almost every store which delivering fresh products are totally not their problem since
there is transportation that provides one day delivery. Although the online purchasing is popular, most customers decided to
purchase online after meeting the real farmers or seeing the products to guarantee that they are real organic. This made the
farmers have to be at the event to attract and expand the customer base to be even wider. Another problem was the channels in
products distribution were not enough since organic is popular in just some groups, making the distribution of organic is not as
good as normal products.

We are the intermediary that connects farmers and consumers together. The farmers would get
higher revenues than selling to the middleman because it becomes retailing instead. They also have
more opportunity in meeting more customers, more ways of selling and reaching customers which
support them in avoiding price reduction.

For the customers, they would get fresh and clean products that directly come from organic farms
without chemicals. They also get more choices from many sources that are under organic standard to
guarantee that the products are fresh and truly organic.
