[ STATEMENT OF PROBABLE CAUSE / NARRATIVE ]

On 12/12/2017 I responded to the intersection of Sherman St and Sunray St in reference to an assault.

Upon arrival I spoke to James Isom and Christine Cole.

Christine advised she and James were at the abandoned church on Sunray St in an attempt to get a stolen Christmas
present back from a friend that she knew as Lamar. Lamar was later identified as Kenneth Lamar Jones. Christine could
not recall Kenneth's last name. Christine advised she had her eight month old grandson, Jackson Nesenson, with them.
Christine stated while at the abandoned church, James asked Kenneth for the present back, at which point Kenneth came
after them with an axe. James got back in the car and began to drive away, at which point Kenneth swung the axe and hit
the 2010 black Nissan Altima bearing FL tag #450QWY in the drivers side quarter panel above the gas tank door.
Kenneth hit the car with the axe hard enough to stick the head of the axe into the metal body of the car. James then drove
away and stopped down the road to call the police. Christine advised she never once got out of the car and stated she did
not feel as though Kenneth was trying to harm her and that the attack was intended for James only. Christine advised she
knew the man with the axe was in fact Kenneth due to previous sexual encounters. Christine

I then spoke to James, who sated he drove Christine to the abandoned church, 5635 Sunray St, to help Christine get a
Christmas present from Kenneth. James pulled up to the front of the church and yelled for Kenneth to bring the present
outside. Kenneth opened the door and began to argue with James. James shined his flashlight on Kenneth, at which point
Kenneth yelled, "You're going to shine that flashlight on me, mother fucker?" Kenneth began to charge toward James

with a large axe. James managed to get back into his vehicle and began to drive away. Approximately the same time

James began to drive away, Kenneth swung the axe at the vehicle, sticking it into the drivers side quarter panel of the

vehicle. James drove to the intersection of Sunray St and Sherman St to wait for police. When James got out to look at

the axe sticking out of his car, he noticed his rear bumper had been ripped off at some point pulling out of the church.

James stated he was in fear of his life. James advised the vehicle belonged to him, and he estimated the damages to cost
approximately $1200.

Dep. Way, Sgt. Smith, Sgt. Nash, and myself then drove to the abandoned church in an attempt to speak to Kenneth, but
were unable to locate him.

Dep. Way advised he asked several neighbors if they knew Kenneth, at which point they stated they knew him as "

." The neighbors wanted to remain anonymous and would not give their information. While prying the axe out of

the vehicle, Dep. Way advised he found the name "Black Man" engraved on the axe handle and blade.

Based on the statements from Christine and James, and the fact that the axe with the name "Black Man" engraved into

the handle and blade was stuck into the side of their car, and the statements form the neighbors saying they knew Kenneth
,", I determined Kenneth struck the vehicle with the axe.

On 12/14/2017 I was advised that Dep. Floyd was out with Kenneth at 4141 Avalon Blvd (Tom Thumb) in reference to

case #17-12578. Post Miranda I asked Kenneth what happened the night of the incident. Kenneth was very uncooperative
and would only reply, "I don't know, I wasn't there."

Based on my investigation, I determined Kenneth violated FSS 784.021.1a, aggravated assault, and FSS. 806.13.13b,
criminal mischief. Kenneth was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail by Dep. Floyd. Once at the jail, I placed
Kenneth under arrest. Dep. Floyd advised me while attempting to detain Kenneth, he fled on foot. Based on this
information, the fact that this was a violent offense, and the fact that Kenneth is homeless, I determined he is a flight risk.
Kenneth was given no bond.
