Dear Secretary Bach:

With this letter, I submit my resignation effective immediately as Region 2 Director of the California
Democratic Party. I do so to prevent any allegations of personal misconduct against me from
creating a distraction within the party at a critical moment in national and state politics. I am
confident of the results that would be forthcoming in a fair, fact-based exploration of this matter,
and if necessary I intend to pursue such an exploration in appropriate venues. It is unfortunate that
current California Democratic Party protocols do not provide the comprehensive and sensitive
environment needed for a full and fair examination of the facts in this matter.
