1. Have all participants stand in a line

2. The first person in line will make up a simple noise and a gesture that can
be repeatable
3. Once the student has his/her rhythm, the second person in line will create
a new sound and gesture that joins the first students gesture and
movement.
4. Each student in line will then make a new sound and gesture that connects
to the person next to them.
5. The last persons gesture and movement will end the machine

f. You could adapt the Machine for children who have ADHD. If possible, the RT

could do a pre-orientation to the game, meaning the RT could explain the

objectives of the game and the skills that are necessary to participate. The RT

should allow extra time and attempts for the children to complete the game. Rest

breaks should also be offered so that the children can maintain attention to the

task. If a lot of kids are participating, the RT should break up the children into

groups of 5 to ensure focus. The RT should also use visual or tactile cues when

possible. Lastly, the RT should use positive reinforcement when necessary, to

encourage the kids to continue the activity.
