OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project is to expose students to the requirement and expectations of
performance on accountants. This project will test students ability towards lifelong learning
skills.

SITUATION

Assume that you need to plan for your career as an accountant. Your aim is to have a steady
career with job security, and where you will be a valuable asset to that company. As an
accountant you may need to analyze profits and losses, providing information that investors
and business owners need in order to evaluate how a company is doing over a period of time.
Moreover, accountants could also play strategic roles in their respective organisations as their
ability to interpret and provide useful insights into data could reveal numerous business
opportunities. You need to be great with figures and have the ability to explain financial
information clearly to excel as an accountant. Just because you are an accounting students and
you will be graduating soon does not mean you will automatically be a great accountant.
Accounting has in recent years faced numerous issues and challenges due to the rapidly changing
economic, regulatory, social, technological and global environment. The following is the

REQUIREMENT
Must possess at least a Degree in Accountancy, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification;
Finance/Accountancy/Commerce or equivalent
Required skills: MS Excel and Word Experience in Microsoft NAV ERP is an added advantage;
At least 3 years of working experience in manufacturing industries and auditing;
Outstanding Analytical and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to adhere to IFRS standards.
Suitable candidate MUST be able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the financial statements of the Group which include manufacturing, trading and
investment holding companies
Sound knowledge in accounting, budgeting, taxation, and GST
Sound knowledge in internal controls
Knowledge in group consolidation
Manage the accounting and finance team

REQUIREMENT

including entry requirements for membership.

addition, the company is not required to lodge financial statements to the SC or BNM and is
not a subsidiary / an associate / jointly controlled by a company that is required to lodge any
financial statements to the Security Commission or Bank Negara Malaysia. Briefly explain

1. Format for report writing:

i. Line spacing: 1.5; Font: Times New Roman (size 12); Pages: maximum 5 pages
(excluding table of contents and references). No limit for appendix.
ii. The project must be written in English.
2. Provide the sources of information gathered in the reference section.
3. Submit the written report by 21 December 2017.
