StoryCorp Interview Reflection - Senior Capstone Project

1. Explain who you interviewed and why you chose to interview that person.
a. I interviewed my mom because she means so much to me and I wanted to know
more about her family and what she knew about our family history.
2. Why did you choose the questions that you did? What was your thought process when
picking questions?
a. I choose the questions that I thought she could answer in depth and the ones I
wanted to more about specifically to her.
3. What is the most important thing you learned during the interview?
a. The most important thing I learned about was how hard it was for her to see me
having to go to my dads when I never wanted to go. I also learned that she is the
person she is today because of how she grew up and the events and people that
made her the person she is.
4. What do you wish you had spent more time on or done dierently?
a. I wish I had asked her more questions about how she meet my dad and why they
got divorced and why she married my step-dad.
5. What did you find most challenging during this task?
a. The most challenging part of this task was finding questions that I wanted to know
more about my mom because I know so much about her already.
6. How did the person you interviewed respond to being interviewed?
a. My mom seemed uncomfortable at first just because she didnt know what
questions were going to be asked but after I asked a few she opened up.
