Abstract
The general objective of this practice was the evaluation of the mechanical behavior of the
engineering materials by tensile and duration tests, following the standardized norms, the part that
was made with measurements within the specified ranges. In the standards, these initial dimensions:
the length and diameter, the measurements that allow the use, is subjected to a tensile force to the
specimens, this force creates a constant speed until reaching the rupture of the probe, the respective
annotations and compared with the original dimensions of the specimen, the calculations were made
to obtain the properties of the material and making the respective analysis identifying material, for
part B which was related to the hardness test, was subjected to a material to a type of hardness test
known as Brinell hardness in which an indenter of a material with greater or greater hardness than the
sample is used, the indenter has the shape of a steel ball with a diameter of 10 mm to which a force P
is applied against the material under test, then freed the load and the diameter of the footprint was
measured and proceeded to make the calculations that determine the hardness number in said Brinell
scale.
