ELG31405 (ENGLISH I1) ASSIGNMENT 3: RESEARCH PAPER This is a group assignment (3-4 members in a group). Deadline Percentage : Week 13 (2pm Thursday, 21 December 2017) 2 25% Assignment Details Topic Conditions Format Six general topies are given Education ‘Music Fashion Society Culture: Wildlife : Students are to choose ONE topic. Students are to work in groups on the pre- writing skills to come up with a more speeific title for the research paper. The title must be in analyticaV/argumentative form. The title must be related to the chosen topic mentioned above. NOTE — Do avoid any sensitive titles Upon approval of the chosen title and mind mapping of ideas, students are to prepare a proposal for the assignment. In the proposal, students are to provide an outline to the chosen title. This includes the introduction, content (with appropriate angles and relevant supporting materials), conclusion, citation of sources and a compilation of materials/information that relates to the title research on. Then, students are to write a research paper. They must present the paper in a report format using headings and sub-headings. The research paper should be approximately 1500 words. Include a list of references which is a detailed record of the sources of ideas and findings that are clearly quoted in your assignment. Write this using the proper technique of referencing. ‘* The research paper must be typed, printed single-sided and bound. * Use 1.5 spacing, Times News Roman font and size 12. ‘Pages are to be numbered accordingly. Place the numbers in the center of each page (except for the Assignment Cover Sheet, Group Confirmation Form and Assignment Rubric), ‘* Assignment Cover Sheet, Group Confirmation Form and Assignment Rubric must be attached as the first three pages of your report. ‘* Apart from handing in the research paper to the tutor, students must also submit a softcopy into Turnitin. Failing to do so will incur a penalty. * You should also make sure that the scripts are spelichecked and preferably proofread. 23Individual Reflection Assignments 2 & 3 Write a reflection of approximately 200 words regarding your experience in carrying out ‘the CHOSEN research topic’ project. Include the following in your reflection: ‘What were your initial thoughts about the project? Peflection, What changes took place from Day I to the submission of the project? ee) How did you connect with your team member(s) and/or the community? Was it a meaningful experience? What are the three TGCs that you have achieved via this project? Relate these ‘TGCs to specific experiences you encountered while being involved in the project. Do include pictures in your reflection. Submit the hardcopy of your reflection with your group’s research paper and a soft-copy into google doc. and provide the link to your respective lecturers.
