Trigger : Create a cost element group- To look at similar cost elements as a group.

Business Process Description Overview


Creation of a Cost Element group: Cost Elements can be grouped in any levels like standard hierarchy according
to our requirements. This is done to Control & analyse costs as a group. This can also be used intelligently to get
summation levels for various reporting.

Input-Required Fields Field Value /Comments


Cost element group Name of the cost element group.
Description Description of the cost element group.
New Node Name of the new node.
Description Description of the new node.

Output – Results Comments


You will get the message: Group changed/created.

Tips and Tricks:


Creation of all groups-Cost Element Group, Cost center Group, Internal order group, SKF group etc. are all
similar.

PROCEDURAL STEPS
1.1 Access transaction by:

Via Menus Accounting Controlling  Cost Centers


Master DataCost Element groupCreate
Via Transaction Code KAH1

1.2. On the “Create Cost element group: Inital Screen”, enter information in the fields as specified in
the below table :

Cost element group R Enter the name of the Cost element group you
want to create.

1.3. Press Enter or Execute or F6 to advance to the next screen.

1.4. . On the “Create Cost element group : Structure screen “, enter information in the fields as specified in
the below table :

Description R Enter the name of the cost element group.

Node R You can add any sub groups under this group. For that
click on the “Insert cost element group-( Same level or
Lower level ) icon” . You will go to the next screen .
In this screen enter the name of the New node.

Description R Enter Description of the cost element sub-group.

1.5. Save the document by clicking Save icon of “Ctrl+S” Button.

Trigger : When you want to change any field in a Cost Element group.

Changing Cost Element Group: Cost Elements can be grouped in any levels like standard hierarchy according
to our requirements. This is done to Control & analyze costs as a group. This can also be used intelligently to get
summation levels for various reporting. We can regroup , delete or insert cost elements under last node by this
function.

Cost element group Name of the cost element group.
Insert group To insert new group.
New node Name of the node to be inserted
Description Description of the node to be inserted
Select icon To select one group
Delete selection push button To delete selection after selecting
Delete icon To delete a group

Insert Cost elements To enter cost elements which belong to the sub- group.

Output – Results Comments


You will get the message – Cost Element has been Read the message to ensure the completeness.

1.2. On the “Change Cost Element group: Initial Screen “, enter information in the fields as specified in
the below table :

Cost Element group: CE Gr. No R Enter the Name of the Cost element group you
want to change.
1.3. Press Enter, F8 or execute to advance to the next screen.

1.4 On the “Change Cost Element group: Structure“ screen , enter information in the fields as specified in
the below table :

Insert group icon R New group can be inserted at same or lower level
-Same level other than the nodes under which cost centers are
-Lower level attached. For this click the corresponding icon .
In the next screen, enter the name of the new node and
enter the description.

Select icon R To delete a group, you have to first select the group by
clicking on the group and click the Select icon or F9.
Then click delete icon.
To Rearrange a group, click on the group and click
Select icon. Then click on the node to which you want
to attach the selected group, and click Lower level or
Same level . Click Close enter button.

Insert cost- Click on the lowest node of the group and click Insert
element icon R Cost element Icon or “Sft+F4” Then, click on
Confirm changes enter icon .
1.5 Save the document by pressing Save or “Ctrl+S” button. You will get the message :Group changed/created.
