Literature Review Drafting

Introduction

Literature reviews form part of most academic research papers. They are sections of research

papers that detail critical points about the current knowledge and methodology already used in certain

topical areas of research. They form part of secondary sources of information and as such do not contain

any original and new information in a certain topic of research. These sections usually appear on

research papers before research proposal sections and results section. Literature reviews bring readers

up to date with present information and research results in a certain topic and helps to form a basis for

future studies or research that may be necessary along these lines. Literature reviews should not be

biased. They should be logical in structuring the information sequentially and with relevant referencing.

Preparation of a literature review draft

Preparing a literature review draft offers the writer a clear outline to follow when conducting the

research as well as when writing up the research report. There are two applicable tools in the writing of

a literature review. These are a literature outline template and literature map. In this case I will employ

the use of an outline template. That generally divides the topics to be covered into main topics and sub-

topics under the main topics. The flow of the outline will form the basis of how the paper will be

structured as well as how the research shall flow (Cone & Foster, 2006).
Review of the literature

The research topic under consideration in this research assignment involves a research about the

home health care industry. Research involves finding out about the structure and organization of the

home health care industry. It also involves operational and financial structures, rules, legislation and

regulations that pertain to home health care as well as advancements in the industry of home health

care. Additionally, the paper also reviews all types of service providers in the industry as well as factors

that affect the growth and advance of the home care health industry.
