Nature of homework

Homework 1 All the students will be required to maintain a Business News File where they will mention the 5 Individual
important business news DAILY; specifying the brief facts of the news and implication of the
news item for business / industry.

Homework 2 Students will be given issues from the current Business Environment. They need to research, Group
obtain and read articles on
the same subject in local or national newspapers. Then they have to do the following: Create ads:
create a message to explain the given issue (or to support one side of the issue). This could be a
poster. Postcard radio or TV public service announcement, slogan etc.
Write a letter: React to an article from your local paper/ national news paper/ magazine/ journal by
contacting its editor.

Homework 3 The group of students will be given a State/Industry/Company. With the help of PESTLE they Group
need to analyse the opportunities which a company can encash in a particular busines
environment. If the threats over weigh the opportunities available in the state then which industry
can be best suited for the state.

Homework 4 Case Based Presentations: Students will be given cases to analyse and present in the class. Group

*Normally all the homeworks shall be submitted online but in special courses where homeworks cannot be submited online , the insructor can edit the mode of submission while

the awareness about water harvesting techniques by seminars, demonstrations, etc.
2 Construction sites: Visit the construction sites of LPU and try to find out the problem of health, sanitization,
child education, etc. faced by the construction workers and devise some innovative ways and solutions for
solving these problems
3 Global warming: Critically analyze the level of awareness of your society about global warming and pollution
and analyze how they are contributing to it. Suggest some useful ways to combat global warming and
reducing pollution in Jalandhar
4 NGO: You have to visit any NGO and find out the contribution done by them to the society and associate your
group with them and help them in their activities and prepare a report of your contribution.
5 Traffic problem: visit a nearby city. Study infrastructure available for commuting purpose. You have to find out
the traffic problems being faced by the citizens. You have to consult government officials like DTO, RTO in
order to identify the various steps taken by them to solve the problems.
6 Child labor: Analyze about the child labor situation in sports industry in Jalandhar. Examine the initiatives
taken to overcome this problem. Also analyze the present situation of Sports industry as well as level of Child
labor employment. Suggest some innovative ways to overcome the ptoblem
7 India vs. China: The pros and cons of doing business there.
8 Subprime crisis and its impact on a particular given sector

provide on the given sector. Prepare a report on impact of Liberalization, Privatization and globalization on the
