PRMS Staff:
The following message is going out to families this morning. We are currently working with Chaska PD to investigate the
situation and appropriate consequences will be given. We take this situation very seriously. Students may be talking and
have questions. We are trying to get a pulse on the students and families reaction. Please let us know if you hear
anything we need to know for our investigation.
Thank you,
Megan

Yesterday we were informed by Chaska Police that they received a report at about 4 p.m. of two students along
Audubon Road. The students had, what was later determined to be, a toy gun. Police determined there was no danger
to the public and contacted parents of the students.
School administration began investigating the matter yesterday and it continues today. Based on the limited information
we gathered last night, it is likely the toy gun was in school yesterday and shown to a few students. We are taking this
very seriously. School is never a place for any kind of weapon, toy or not. Police are already involved and we are working
in cooperation with them.
The vast majority of Pioneer Ridge students were not involved and are unaffected apart from the rumors that are
circulating around school. We have shared with you in this message all of the information that we can communicate.
Details of our investigation are considered private data by state law. Again, we want to reiterate that police do not
believe the public was ever in danger and we will handle this matter with the utmost gravity.
We have had a good school year and while this matter is unfortunate, our school year will have a strong positive finish.
We appreciate the support you continue to maintain for Pioneer Ridge Middle School.
Sincerely,
Megan Blazek
