From the beginning on April 1, 1976 apple was founded by Steve Wozniak, Steven Jobs
and Ronald Wayne. Before working with Wozniak and Wayne on the Apple project, Steve Job
had worked with Hewlett-Packard which is known as “HP” and the first video games company
Atari Inc. Mr. Wozniak also worked at HP. This is where Job and Wozniak first met in the year
of 1972. Ronald Wayne provided key administrative oversight for the new venture. However, he
gave up his share of the new company back to Jobs and Wozniak for a total of $2,300
(Chandrasekaran, 2012).
Job was the first person with the idea of building a personal computer in which he shared
this idea with Wozniak (whom became his future partner). The both of them started to work on
the Apple 1 out of Job’s bedroom in the year of 1975. Steve came up with the idea to sell
computers but Wozniak took the Apple project more as a hobby then a marketing strategy. After
completing the project; Wozniak and Jobs friends at the Homebrew Computer Club (an early
computer hobbyist users' group in Silicon Valley, which met under that name from March 5,
1975 to December 1986), insisted them with their ideas of making the computer better. In the
early parts of 1976, the first Apple 1 circuit board was completed and marketed in July 1976 at
After the success of Apple 1, Jobs and Wozniak did not stop there. Their next project
focused on the Apple 2 which was introduced on April, 1977 at the Computer Fair in the West
Coast. It was very distinctive and more creative from its other competition. It came with graphics
that were colorful and the designing structure was unique. Some of the rivals used cassette tapes
as a storage device while Jobs and Wozniak used the 5 ¼ inch floppy disk drive and interface.
This was the beginning of Apples constant makings of their new innovation (“Apple Inc.
History”, 2008).
