A Life Worth Spinning For

Someone is born for a purpose, we may not know what is it or how to know it but one thing is
for sure God works in mysterious ways. All Souls day, November 2, 1993 while other families
are remembering the memories of their love ones, One family blessed to start creating their new
memories through a birth of a future strong woman, her height is not a hindrance in achieving
her dreams and goals she is no other than Ms. Rodelyn S. Patubo.
She was born at Brgy. 12, Laoag City. Daughter of Mrs. Adela S. Patubo and Mr. Rodelio B.
Patubo. She is a sister to her two younger siblings, Allan Dave Patubo and Ritchelle Ann Patubo.
Her family is not rich, she faced struggles in terms of going to school but if you want to achieve
something you will create ways.
She studied elementary level at Shamrock Elementary School, one of her most memorable
experience here is when she bump a grade 5 student that cause her cracks on her back and stills
suffer from its long term effect until now. She take up secondary level at Ilocos Norte College of
Arts and Trades where she become hooked up with the Biology subject since Second year high
school, the story behind it is because during biology time in her class, it is the only time that her
crush is seated beside her so She try to make a good impression towards her crush by actively
participating in the recitation, quizzes and group activities granting her many science related
achievements.
Her parents said that she will no longer take College because of financial problems but she never
gave up and she avail scholarship at Mariano Marcos State University-College of Teacher
Education and was accepted. She take up Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biology and
Graduated on April 4, 2013 and started working as a Laboratory assistant at Northwestern
University with some teaching loads in College level, her most memorable memory here was
when she met her boyfriend.
From working in the laboratory she is now working in classrooms as a Senior High school
Teacher of Science related subjects and adviser of Grade 11-Peace since school year 2016-2017.
In terms of the working environment in Northwestern University she is very thankful because
she is enjoying it but in terms of salary the percentage of satisfaction is not that good. Her
parents want her to work in public schools but she thinks that she is not ready enough although
there are some people saying that she is qualified nevertheless she is very interested in public
school teaching.
Her life is not just about achievements, she has a relationship 2 years and 4 months with Mr.
John Patrick Abogado. One of the biggest struggles in their relationship is when She knew that
she is not the only one and she keeps on forgiving him because she loves him. Even though she
saw pictures of her boyfriend with someone else in a restaurant having selfie and date which is
very odd because he never invite her to a date or just having a selfie back then. There are times
that the boy wants to end their relationship with no reason but she never gave up. She is a living
embodiment of a true fighter.
“ Trials can sustain the flow of the relationship, we can’t avoid that. Pag walang away walang
twist, war will mold your relationship stronger” –Ms. Rodelyn. There are things that we need to
fight for to make difference. You just need to understand each other so that you can cope with all
the hardships and trials in the future. According to her “If you love someone you can sacrifice
everything”.
Ms. Rodelyn S. Patubo summarized her life story with the quote, “Life is a Ferris wheel, it
doesn’t matter how many times you go up and down as long as you enjoy the process”
