ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The concept of Coaching Depot was adopted immediately after conversion of Guwahati Complex in
BG in 1984 with regards to maintenance of coaches by Mechanical and Electrical department under
DRM/Lumding

Highlight/Achievements

1. The staffs of M&P section/GHY has made one wheel chair ramp for
passenger to board train at GHY platform. The design and fabrication done
in-house of Coach Maintenance Depot/GHY.
2. As part of Swachhta Pakhwada, an “ART OF LIVING” workshop for
supervisors(Mechanical & Electrical & other Deptt was held from 21st to 25th
August at Conference hall of Coach Maintenance Depot/GHY.
3. One knowledge centre for staffs training is opened at Coach maintenance
Depot,KYQ .

 1. SPECIAL ACHIVEMENT


 All the machines and equipments of Kamakhya Laundry are being maintained in-house by Coaching
Depot/ GHY.
 Upgraded the rake of 12067/68 GHY-JTTN Express & the rake of 12518/17 GHY-Garib Rath
Express by providing passenger amenity items in the train respectively. In Passenger amenities, all
gravity cocks, Door latches, Tower Bolt, Mirror, and Soap Container have been provided in the
train. Coach Boards inside all the coaches at both ends & Laminated Time-table display Boards
fitted in all the Jan-Shatabdi Coaches.
 A complete automation of On Board Housekeeping Grievance Redressal Arrangement through
SMS under www.cleanmycoach.com has been introduced w.e.f 25.01.2016 in all the 27 OBHS
nominated train of Guwahati Coaching Depot.
 Proper stocking of used linen and first in first out system ensured.
 Auto dozer of the OEM of chemicals is being used for proper use of chemicals.
 Proper sorting of soiled linens to give special treatment of stain linens.

A. CLEAN TRAIN STATION(CTS):-

Mechanized Coach Cleaning and water topping of coaches of through passing trains during halt at Platforms
under “Clean Train Station” scheme for a period of 03 years is being done by M/S General Security &
information Services Private Ltd. 7/C Abinash Ch. Banerjee Lane, Kolkata-700010. Validity of contract from
08.03.2015 to 07.03.2018. Tendered cost is Rs. 5,08,49,950.00.

B. Mechanized Coach Cleaning:-

Mechanized Coach Cleaning and Water topping of Coaches maintained at Pit Lines, Guwahati Pit Line, New
Guwahati and Pit lines Kamakhya, Depot Premises cleaning along with garbage removal from GHY, NGC, &
KYQ under Coaching Depot Guwahati for a period of 02yeras is being done by the M/S Khagaul Loco Labours
Co-operative Society Ltd., Khagaul, Patna. Validity of Contract from 15/01/2015 to 14/01/2017. Tendered Cost
is Rs. 7, 53,94,750.00.

 D. Pest & Rodent Control:-

Pest and Rodent control contract has been outsourced to M/s Chandi Pest Control & Co. Bandha
Chowk, Bidanasi, Cuttack-753014, Odisha. . All Guwahati & KYQ Based trains are attendant by M/S Chandi for
Pest & Rodent Control.

17. Mechanized laundry at KYQ:-

Mechanized Laundry was set up at Kamakhya in July, 2010 with a capacity of 1 ton and
further augmented to 3.5 ton. Comprehensive Linen handling in the laundry along with
transportation, loading/unloading of linens in trains at GHY and KYQ has been outsourced to
M/S Osho Garments Finishers & Laundry Pvt. Ltd, 8, Camac Street, Kolkata-70017. Linens
are being supplied in sealed packets.

b) Extension of Laundry: The sanction work of “Augmentation of existing Mechanized Laundry at

Coaching Depot Kamakhya” at a total cost of Rs. 1,21,52,000.00 is initiated. Vetted NS requisition for
Procurement of M&P has been sent to HQs. Construction of shed of 15 m X 8 m will be done by Sr.
DEN/MLG.

 c) Proposal for repairing of equipment for KYQ laundry at Cost of Rs.31.39 Lakh has been sent to
ADFM/GHY for account vetting on 12.12.2016.

d) Estimate against proposal for setting up tf BOOT laundry at GHY area at a cost of Rs. 148.35 crore has
been sent to ADFM/GHY on 15.12.2016 for account vetting.
