Applied Economics Performance#1

Direction: Use short size bond paper to answer the following questions. Choose only three items and your answer should be placed
in the short size bond paper. Each chosen item is worth 30 points
Deadline: January 4, 2017
1. Cut out a news item that is related to any economic issue. Is the cut out news item is related to GDP or GNP? Explain your
answer.
2. Using a pie chart, show your regular allowance for the week and how you budget this for your school and personal
expenses.
3. Ask your mother or your father regarding the household budget of your family. Make a list of all basic expenses for one
month. Then ask the budget percentage for each of these expenses.
4. If you were to advise the President of the Philippines on how to cope with the issues on poverty and unemployement to
improve the lives of the Filipino people, what would you tell him and why?
5. With three of your classmates, visit an area in your neighbourhood where mostly poor people live. This should be people
with income of P5,000.00 or less per month. Interview a family about their weekly or daily expenses. Identify what basic
needs these people normally cannot afford to buy.
