MSE 104 Course Policy

1. Homeworks (10% of the total grade)

- Homework will be assigned on Wednesdays and due at end of class on the following Wednesday.
No late homework will be accepted.
- In homework grading, two problems will be randomly selected to be formally graded (each will
be worth 50%). If a student inadvertently omits a problem that is graded, there will be zero credit
for that problem.
- Students are expected to write individual homework. Although you may work together on
assignments, nearly identical homeworks are unacceptable.
2. Exams
- All exams are closed book and no data sheet is allowed. Students will be provided with
equations, constants, etc.
3. Solutions
- Homework solutions will be posted on Friday on CCLE by TAs.
- No posting of solutions for any exams, they will be discussed during recitation sessions or during
lecture.
4. Regrades
- Students need to provide written explanation for any regrades. Requests must be made within one
week after solutions are provided.
5. Make-up exams
- Make-up exams are not automatic and will be allowed only with a doctor’s note.
6. Miscellaneous
- During office hours, instructors and TAs will answer questions on course material, homework,
and exams, but will not repeat lectures or go over entire solutions that were already provided in
detail during recitations or lectures unless time allows.
