HMV DRIVING TRAINING

1.1.1. Targeted Participants: LMV Drivers without HMV Driving Licence

1.1.2. Nomination Process:

1.1.2.1. The LMV drivers are nominated from all the Sites for HMV driving
training as per the eligibility criteria mentioned below:
1.1.2.2. Candidate must be a minimum of 20 years of age.
1.1.2.3. Candidate must possess LMV Driver Licence.
1.1.2.4. Candidate must have minimum 01 year of experience as LMV Driver.
1.1.2.5. Candidate must possess HMV Learner Licence.
1.1.2.6. The Candidate must have a minimum height of 5ft 4 inches.
1.1.2.7. The Candidate must have a minimum educational qualification of 8th
Class.
1.1.3. The nominated LMV Drivers are structured into “HMV Trainee Batches”. The
Trainee Batches are formed on the basis of seniority of LMV driving experience.
The Seniority of an LMV Driver is considered as per the date of issue of LMV
Driving Licence. The maximum year of seniority considered for the HMV
Training is 10 years.
1.1.4. Internal Communication:
1.1.4.1. Internal Training Circular for the HMV Trainee Batch should be prepared
by the Training Officer and The Department Head should circulate the
Circular through official mail to all the Project/ Sites prior to seven days
before the scheduled date for HMV Training.
1.1.4.2. The Project Heads are required to release the LMV Drivers as per the
allocation mentioned in the Circulars from their respective sites.
1.1.4.3. The travel arrangements (To and Fro) of the nominated drivers is under
the scope of the respective Site HR Head and Admin. They will be co-
ordinating with the Travel Request for booking of train tickets. Under
any circumstances, if the nominated drivers bear their own travel
expenses, they can claim their travel reimbursable expenses at their
respective sites as per the eligibility mentioned in the Travel Policy.

1.1.5. Training Duration:

1.1.5.1. The Trainee Batches will be sent to External HMV Training Centre for
receiving quality driving training in the Heavy Motor Vehicle segment.
[One of the HMV Training Centre recommended is “Society for Govt. of
Odisha-Ashok Leyland HMV Drivers Training Institute”, registered
under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 at Chhatia,Odisha. The
training duration is for One month. It is a fully residential course for
which the trainee has nothing to pay towards training, lodging &
boarding and DL fees. In addition to this, the trainee on successful
completion of training & obtaining HMV DL is entitled to get wage loss
compensation of Rs.3000/-each also.]
