Mini-Project Assessment Pack


Your mini-projects will be assessed based upon how well they promote the
following 21st Century goals:
Learning and innovation Skills (50% of grade)
ic Creativity and Innovation
ic Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
ic Communication and Collaboration
ënformation, Media, and Technology Skills (50% of grade)
ic Information Literacy
ic Media Literacy
ic ICT (Information, Communications & Technology) Literacy

Each of the mini-projectsshould also cover aspects of the NETS*T standards, such
that in your final portfolio you will have demonstrated all six aspects:
O Facilitate and ënspire Student Learning and Creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and
technology to facilitate experiences that advance studentlearning, creativity, and
innovation
2 Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and
assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources tomaximize content
learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in
the NETSȈS as necessary for the 21st Century.
3 Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an
innovative professional in a global and digital society.
4 Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an
evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethicalbehavior in their professional
practices.
5 Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning,
and exhibit leadership in their school and professionalcommunity by promoting and
demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources.

There are two (2) assessment items Ȃ one is based on the P21 goalsandthe other for
the NETS*T. Each time you submit a mini-project, you are to complete both items as
a self-assessment of your work and turn them in with a copy of a lesson plan for the
project. I will take your self-graded score into account when I grade each project. In
addition, you are to submit to me in electronic form examples you created related to
the activity Ȃ when you do so, your subject line should read DzINTC 3610 Project #dz
where Dz#dz is the number of the project (such as DzProject 3dz). Failure to properly
submit the project may result in grading delays.

These skills are based on the new 2008 NETS*T standards. The standards will provide a framework
for you to use in determining your level of use of technology and 21st century skills personally and
with your future students.
