UNIT OBJECTIVE: At the end of this unit students will be able to distinguish human body parts (brain, heart, lungs, stomach,
muscles, and skeleton) and their basic functions.

CONCEPTUAL CONTENT

Skeletal and muscular systems

PROCEDURAL CONTENT:

 Discussing the function of each part.


 Identifying where major human body parts are located in the body.
 Describing the function of the brain, the heart, the lungs, the muscles, the stomach, and the skeleton.

ATTITUDINAL CONTENT:

 Being responsible with the assigned tasks in the different class’ activities.
 Being aware of the function of the human body parts.
 Getting involved in the class’ discussion of the topics.

INSTRUCTIONAL TIME (45/90 MIN)

CLASS BEGINNING:

1. Previous knowledge: play the following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmV8z0G2pv4

2. Content presentation: ask children to imagine what their bodies might be like if they had no bones
3. Topic introduction: ask children to identify the main idea of the meaning of skeleton(p.196)

CLASS DEVELOPMENT:

Topic: skeleton and muscular system

Specific class objectives: at the end of the class, students will identify the function of the skeletal and muscular systems.

Activity one: Explain and write on the board

Skeleton helps to hold up your body and protects parts inside your body.

Give students the following photocopy

Ss have to cut ,label and paste it in their notebooks

Activity two:

Write on the board the following

Muscles are all over your body .Some muscles pull on your bones to move them. Other muscles move things like nutrients
and oxygen through your body.

Give students the following picture and ask them to paste it in their notebooks
Finish pages 196 and 197
