CONTENT ANALYSIS

‘The merchant of Venice ‘is a comedy written by William Shakespeare. The main character
of the lesson were Antonio, Bassano, Portia and Shylock. In the first paragraph the author
introduces Antonio and Bassanio. Antonio was a young, honest merchant in the town of
Venice .He was loved by all the citizens in Venice. His intimate friend is Bassano. He is not
rich. He lives a luxurious life and squandered all the little money he had. They share one
heart and one purse between them.

The learner:

1. Develops the skill of listening, speaking, reading and writing.


2. Reads aloud with proper stress and intonation.
3. Identifies unfamiliar words from the context.
