For action to be effective it must be based on a good understanding of what is needed. After further
research has been done on a selected topic your club/group should be ready to take action. For a
project to succeed it has to be well planned. A well-planned action can help young people to learn good
organisation skills.

The aim of this section is for young people to be able to plan their citizenship project in a clear, concise
manner using the logic model and the 9 point plan.

• Explain that a logic model is about planning to achieve your goals in a logical way.

• Divide participants into groups of two or three.

• Give each group a set of Role Headings and an envelope containing the Committee Tasks/Roles.

• I nstruct the groups to put the Committee Tasks/Roles under the correct headings in the quickest
possible time.

•  iscuss the exercise ensuring that participants understand the duties associated with each committee

Processing: In the large group, discuss:

• Can you suggest other tasks associated with the roles?

• Are there any roles that you would like to run for?

• What did you learn about the different roles?
