Introduction

Innovation is simply a new idea, device or method. It is viewed as the application

of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs or existing
needs.

Innovation is the process of meeting changes to something established by

introducing something better and new.

Innovative work helps a teacher to teach a lesson easily. The role of innovative
work is very important in commerce. In order to teach a lesson innovatively,
teacher must use a lot of pictures, games and videos. In teaching learning process
the role of innovative work is one of the effective methods for teaching difficult
lesson easily and for easy revisions.

Report

The present innovative work is an attempt to provide revision of the chapters

“INTERNAL TRADE AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS” of CLASS XI BUSINESS
STUDIES through an interesting game that we usually played in our childhood
days “snake and ladder”.

Here I tried my level best to make the revision session more interesting so that
the students do not feel tired and mug up the answers rather than learn the
chapter through a series of questions which would facilitate individual and group
collaboration in the class.

The present material is entitled as “PLAY AND LEARN”. This material helps to
make learning more interesting and playful, which helps them in remembering
the answers for future questions.
Preparation

This material was prepared in a simple way.

Firstly a model of an accurate snake and ladder was drawn on a chart paper and
attractive colors were provided in order to make it look best. Then numbers were
provided to each box and snakes and ladder were provided on to their blocks.tp
avoid repeated questions some boxes were avoided and advantages and
disadvantages were attached to them.

Then on a different chart different types of questions were written. Each and
every block number had its own separate question and these questions were
attached along the snake and ladder cardboard.

Execution
The class was divided into four groups and each group had its leader. Each
leader was provided with different types of color pegs in their hands to signify
the color of their groups.

The game had its rules and regulation

 The game could only start if the player gets 1 or 6 as opening.

 Each box had a secret question and only if that question is answered the
team could play further.
 Any member of the team could answer the question including the leader.

 If your peg lands at the bottom of a ladder, you can move up to the top of
the ladder.
 If your peg lands on the head of a snake, you must slide down to the
bottom of the snake.
 The first player to get to the space that says 'home' is the winner.
The game starts as follows;
Each team leader throws the dice and the one who gets 1 or 6 will start
playing the game by placing the peg on the board and a question will be
asked. If the group gives the correct answer only then the leader could
move the peg to another box and a question will be asked. This follows with
the rest of the team.

Conclusion

Through this game I found that students were really concentrating on all
the questions and the answers as they predicted that I would ask them
repeated questions. This process continued the next day as they were well
prepared and more energetic.

Every child actively participated in the game and group discussions paved
way for them to remember the points and answer the questions
accordingly.
