INFORMATION ABOUT REQUESTING A CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE

Anyone wishing to establish an employment with any of the Hungarian Businesses of General Electric, must certify with a Criminal Record
Certificate that they are not under any constraint of establishing such mentioned employment:
Semiskilled, unskilled newhire labour:
 „nem áll foglalkozástól vagy tevékenységtől eltiltás hatálya alatt”: not prevented from any occupation that corresponds to or forms
part of the job position
Other newhire employees:
 „nem áll foglalkozástól vagy tevékenységtől eltiltás hatálya alatt”: not prevented from any occupation that corresponds to or forms
part of the job position;
 „bűntetlen előéletű”: clean criminal record.
Attention: valid criminal record certificate is also required in case contracted worker transfers to GE staff.
Criminal record certificate is NOT REQUIRED only in below exceptional cases: transfers from other company to GE based on business transfers
agreement; current GE employee transfers within GE businesses and/or GE legal entities; apprentices employed for a maximum of 8 weeks
period (Lighting practice); rehired employees if, they are rehired within 1 calendar month.
We request you to have your background certified by the criminal records database of Hungary based on above mentioned.

REQUESTING A CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE


Important: Any natural person may submit an application for Official Certificate of Good Conduct regardless of nationality.
Starting from 1 January 2016, the procedure for issuing the certificate of good conduct can be requested free of charge four times a year.
For the fifth time and on, a general procedural duty of 3,000 HUF is payable for the first instance administrative procedure, as established in
Law no. XCIII of 1990 on duties. For the fifth time and on, the applicant is entitled for legal aid if he or she is unable to pay the procedural
duties, fully or partially, due to his or her poor wages, income or financial situation.
VIA POST:
You can request a Criminal Record Certificate at any Hungarian post office, by purchasing a request form. Please ask for „Erkölcsi
bizonyítvány”. You can look for the closest post office to your location here: http://www.posta.hu/ugyfelszolgalat/postakereso (note: page not
available in English, please ask for Hungarian speaking help).
The request form must be completed with the details shown in the document that the requestor uses for identification (ID card, passport or
driving licence). After filling in the request form, please send it to the following address: Közigazgatási és Elektronikus Közszolgáltatások
Központi Hivatala (name of the office), 1475 Budapest, Pf. 172. (adress).
Lead time: Taking into account the posting time, you can expect your Criminal Record Certificate to arrive within 10-12 business days of
requesting it (please note, that Criminal Record Certificates will be only delivered to a Hungarian address).
VIA TELEPHONE:
You can request a Criminal Record Certificate at the 1818 Government Customer Line (identification process via telephone). Before you use
this option, personal registration is required which can take place at any Document Office (you can look for the closest Document Office to
your location here: http://www.kekkh.gov.hu/en/document_office_searcher).
After the registration an 8-digit identification number and a 6-digit password is generated for the requestor. If you choose the identification
process via telephone, you have to give your 8-digit identification number and 3 random numbers of your 6-digit password (eg. you have to
provide the first, fourth and sixth digit of your password).
Lead time: Taking into account the posting time, you can expect your Criminal Record Certificate to arrive within 10-12 business days of
requesting it (please note that Criminal Record Certificates will be only delivered to a Hungarian address).
IN PERSON AT THE CUSTOMER CARE CENTRE, URGENT REQUESTS:
With effect from 1 January 2017, the submission of all personal applications for extracts of judicial records is only possible at the Criminal
Record Authority Customer Service Office (1097 Budapest, Vaskapu utca 30/A.) with a pre-booked appointment. Clients are welcome to book
appointments for the administration of applications for extracts of judicial records by phone at the 1818 Government Customer Line or at +36-
1-5501858 when calling from abroad. Extracts of judicial records requested in person can be picked up at the Criminal Record Authority
Customer Service Office. If the applicant is a foreign national, he or she may be required to present an address card or a leasing contract in
order to certify legal residence in Hungary.
Lead time: Following the request for the Criminal Record Certificate, it will be issued and can be recieved usually the following day but latest in
5 business days at the Customer Care Centre.
Opening hours: Monday: 8:00-15:00, Wednesday: 8:00-15:00, Friday: 8:00-12:00
It may take 1-2 weeks to get an appointment at the Criminal Record Authority Customer Service Office because of the limited opening hours.
VIA THE HUNGARIAN EMBASSY OR CONSULATES OUTSIDE HUNGARY:
You might also request a Criminal Record Certificate via the Hungarian embassy or consulates in person and the certificate will be handed
over to you there once ready. For further information you can turn to the given office.
Price: For A Criminal Record Certificate requested via the Hungarian embassy or consulates and for any translation, an extra fee must be paid
that is determined by the given embassy/consulate.

VALIDITY OF THE CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE
The Criminal Record Certificate is valid 90 days from the date of issue.
The Criminal Record Certificate is only issued in Hungarian, any translation needs to be organised by the Requestor. Please
