LESSON NOTES FORM ONE

INTRODUCTION TO PHYSICS
Concept of physics
The world shows variety of life and behaviors. Through science, scientist continue to investigate on this
things with the intention of knowing them. With the help of Physical science scientists understand the
universe.

Meaning of physics and related terms Systematic means carefully examined or conducted
by experimenting, exploring, observing, analyzing

TOPIC SUMMARY

 Natural science has two branches: physical science and Biological science
 Also we may say that science is divided into three main subject: Physics, chemistry and biology.
 Physics is the branch of science which deals with the study of matter, energy and how they
interact with each other.
 Physics has two main branches: Classical physics and Modern physics
 Physics is related to other subjects such as Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Geography.
 Physics has many usefully applications in our daily lives. For example, manufacture of materials
and equipment used at home and in hospitals. Improve transport and communication process and
facilities such as phones, satellites and aircraft.
 Study physics helps us to:
 Solve many problems in our environment
 Obtain a foundation for future physics related careers such as engineering, manufacturing
plants, science teaching at secondary and college level, science research and
telecommunication
 Discover a new ideas and improve efficiency of equipment and machinery.
