Response to Key Selection Criteria

Criteria 1 : 'Victorian Public Sector Values' as detailed in Organisational Values section above

It has been over 4 months since I have come to Victoria on a permanent basis. I really like it and I do
follow the Victorian Pubic Sector Values and agree to it.

I believe in integrity and accountability. I am a firm follower of Human Rights and respect everyone.

Criteria 2 : 'Written Communication' and 'Verbal Communication' as detailed in the Required


Capabilities section above

I have excellent Communication Skills written and verbal. All my studies have been in Englilsh. I have
worked with various organization and developed their proposals, contect, letter, reports etc.

On a certain occasion my communication skills lead my organization AAB – the need of life to
present successfully at a doner organization meeting and I was able to lead by example and explain
our objectives and goals in a positive manner.

The outcome was tremendous and the donor organization started to support us.

Criteria 3 : 'Organisational Awareness' as detailed in the Required Capabilities section above

Am someone who follows rules and standards and I fully understand issues and pressures to which
the organisation has to respond and understands the reasons behind the organisational climate and
culture.

I like taking up challenges to meet with organization goals. With SPELT, I have been introducing new
ways to raise awareness on teacher programs offered by SPELT.

The outcome was that within one year there was increase in membership and participants increased
at the workshops offered by SPELT.

Criteria 4 : 'Conceptual and Analytical Ability' and 'Detail Focus' as detailed in the Required
Capabilities section above

I can deal with concepts in a innovative manner. Coming up with good communication ideas.

I was responsible for designing the layout of a 4 year report for Madadgaar National Helpline, I
balanced the report by keeping it simple yet attractive and used colours related to Madadgaar theme
and highlighted their key achievements in a effective manner

At the Madadgaar Strategic Planning Meeting I used my analytical and skills to reason through the
problems faced by Madadgaar and how barriers and gaps can be removed. I also help Madagaar form
a strategy that will focus on providing help to women and children in Pakistan.
Criteria 5 : 'Leadership' as detailed in the Required Capabilities section above

I am a team player and a motivator. At AAB – the need of life I was responsible to train a team of
volunteers and also lead them to help with school activities. I was able to translate organisational
strategy into meaningful long-term plans and objectives, helping volunteer to understand the
organizations objectives.

The volunteers under my leadership felt comfortable and determined to achieve our goals. Within 1
year we were able to achieve our goals and the volunteers received valuable training. I was highly
appreciated by their respective universities.

Criteria 6 : 'People Management' and 'Developing Others' as detailed in the Required Capabilities
section above

I can maximise effectiveness by selecting, developing, managing and motivating a high performing
team, as explained in Criteria 5. Most people under my management work effectively. I keep their
performance records and ensure smooth working at all times.

I am also a problem solver and deal with issues efficiently. Incase of any issues. I prioritize according
to most urgent bases. I have been doing this consistently in AAB – the need of life.

At a certain time, two people working as teachers in our project school had an issue with the
curriculum and wanted to teach in their own way. I dealth the issue with calm and explained the
rational to the teachers, I also keep their need in mind and without degrading or rejecting their
opinions, managed to stay by the organizations polices.

This was really appreciated by the president of the organization and I received the Employee
Excellence Performance Award for the year 2014.
