I. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course aims to equip students with the proper work attitude in the industry, under the light
of Benedictine virtues like honesty, resoluteness in the will of God, etc. Given the onslaught of
media, telecommunication gadgets, and trends in the corporate world, this course seeks to strike
a balance between true Benedictine character and industrial competitiveness.
At the end of the academic term, the students should be able to:
1. Gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the spirituality of St. Benedict through discussions of
selected topics on the Holy Rule.
2. Cultivate, support and transmit the Benedictine heritage within contemporary culture.
3. Interpret and relate Benedictine values like prayer, work, study, humility, community life, etc., to their
present situation in life.
4. Discern and absorb Benedictine virtues and values as an integral component towards the formation of
proper and healthy work attitude in today’s modern industry
5. Ponder creatively and discuss the challenges to Benedictine values in the third millennium.
