D2 Note: The 4.0kV and 460V Utilisation voltages for motors are 3 phase, 3 wire.
e) All equipment with the exception of motors shall be suitable for continuous operation at ±10% of system voltage coincident
with ± 2% of system frequency unless otherwise stated on a data sheet or specification. Motors shall be suitable for
continuous operation at ± 5% coincident with ± 2% of system frequency. Momentary system disturbances, for example
during short circuit, load rejection or motor starting, will result in voltage and frequency variation in excess of steady
state values. All equipment shall be designed to ensure that connected loads can ride through the following
transients, which can occur during normal system operation, without damage.
• Overvoltage of 20% for 2 seconds
• Voltage dip of 20% for 10 seconds
• Frequency variation of ± 10% for 10 seconds
