1. “Un museo invita a sus visitantes a sumergirse en sus pasiones” (A museum invites its
visitors to dive in their passions). The Spanish verb for DIVE is used with abstract things, such as
“passions”.
2. “La Iglesia ha emergido de las ruinas de la modernidad” (The Catholic Church has emerged to
the Surface from the ruins of modernity). Spanish verb for EMERGE TO THE SURFACE used to
express a sudden rise from something, or a comeback.
3. “Después del fracaso de su último disco, el cantante está flotando” (After the failure of this
last record, the Singer is floating) Spanish verb FLOAT used with people to express a
resurgence, recovered acclaim, etc.
4. “Necesito navegar por internet para hacer este ejercicio” (I need to surf-the literal
translation would be ‘sail’- the internet to do this exercise). In Spanish, we use the translation
of SAIL to express our activity of using the Internet to check things out.
5. “El narrador debe zambullirse en el cuento” (A narrator must dive into his story). Spanish
verb for DIVE to metaphorically express “getting into” or “having an implication” on
something.
