OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
1. Flight planning must consider the fuel burn and range associated with flight at lower altitudes.
2. Minimum enroute altitudes must be taken into account for the planned route.
3. Passengers must be briefed prior to each flight that cabin pressurization will be unavailable.
Any medical complications or concerns must be considered in determination of the enroute
altitude.
4. Portable or therapeutic oxygen may be used as needed for passenger comfort.
5. Cabin pressure must be monitored throughout the flight.

MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES

2. With CKPT and CAB PAC switches ON, right engine R ENG BLD AIR switch ON, set
throttles at idle and set left engine L ENG BLD AIR to EMER position.
3. Check and observe no airflow from the emergency pressurization system.
4. Set the right engine R ENG BLD AIR to EMER position.
5. Check and observe no airflow from the emergency pressurization system.

1. Using AFM Normal Procedures, start both engines. If APU is installed, it must remain
OFF.
2. Place the ISOL VALVE knob on the environmental control panel to SHUT and set the
APU BLEED AIR switch to OFF.
3. Place the CAB PAC and CKPT PAC knobs to ON.
4. Place the R ENG BLD AIR knob to HP/LP.
5. Verify the isolation valve is closed by checking for no airflow thru the pilot and copilot
footwarmer ducts.
6. Verify airflow thru left side cabin dropped aisle ducting.
7. Verify both PACs are operative as follows:
a. Set APU BLEED AIR switch to OFF and verify ISOL VALVE is set to SHUT.
b. Place the CKPT PAC and CAB PAC knobs to ON.
c. Place L and R ENG BLD AIR knobs to HP/LP.
d. Verify airflow thru pilot, copilot and left cabin dropped aisle ducts.
8. Using AFM Normal Procedures, power down aircraft.

The flight crew must brief that during all aircraft ground movements (including takeoff and
landing), the copilot will have control of the AP/TRIM/NWS DISC function so that, in the event of
a system malfunction, the copilot will activate the disconnect and the pilot will maintain
directional control of the aircraft using a combination of tiller wheel steering, differential braking
and thrust.
Pull and secure the SERVO circuit breaker on the copilot’s circuit breaker panel.

(O) May be inoperative while conducting operations which require two Long-Range
Communication Systems (LRCS) provided:
a) SATCOM voice or data link operates normally,
b) Alternate procedures are established and used,
c) SATCOM coverage is available over intended route of flight, and
d) If SATCOM voice is to be used over intended route of flight, SATCOM voice short codes
(INMARSAT) or direct dial commercial numbers (IRIDIUM) must be available, prior
coordination with appropriate ATS (FIR) facility is required.
1. Prior to each flight, a crew member shall make sure that SATCOM Data Link and ACARS
systems are operational for transmitting and receiving information from a ground station.
2. Prior to each flight, a crew member shall review SATCOM system user’s guide/manual to
ensure coverage exists for the intended route of flight.
3. Prior to flight, a crew member shall coordinate with the appropriate ATC facility to advise of
intended flight without INMARSAT codes, if codes are not available.
1) If the antenna came lose in flight, inspect the aircraft for damage. If damage is found, contact
Cessna Customer Support Structures Team for aircraft evaluation.
2) Remove the HF Antenna. Refer to 650 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 23 for the appropriate
HF installation.
3) Bag and stow any loose connectors.
4) Cover any openings in the fuselage with aerodynamic tape.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
Prior to flight, a crew member must ensure that the hand micro phone is secured in a manner
that will not interfere with aircraft operations. One method is to utilize adhesive hook and loop
(Velcro) strips on the pedestal.
(O) One may be inoperative provided alternate procedures are established and used for
transmitting.
OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
Prior to flight, the crew member with the operative switch will be assigned all radio transmissions.
1. Prior to each flight the flight crew shall discuss the new radio tuning procedures using only
the standby radio control unit and the operative RMU.
2. Prior to each flight, a crew member shall check for proper transmission and reception using
the standby radio control unit and RMU by tuning in at least one COM channel and one
navigation aid.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
Place the required documents in a clear plastic bag and display them in a manner that is visible
to the appropriate authorities, crew members and passengers.
Refer to 650 Maintenance Manual Chapter 25, Equipment / Furnishings and remove affected
armrest.

system.
2. Make sure full flight control movement and brake application are available.
3. Make sure all necessary controls and equipment can be reached.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
1. Prior to flight, a crew member shall occupy the affected seat and fasten the restraining
system to ensure the following conditions are met:
(a) Make sure full flight control movement and brake application.
(b) Make sure access to all necessary controls and equipment.
2. Position the affected seat(s) so the pilot align the eyeball locator bracket so that the following
sight picture with the bracket is achieved:
(a) Eyeball locator base is flat.
(b) The flange opposite to the affected seat is aligned for a straight edge.

NOTE: Refer to the appropriate Interiors Manual for information of the individual aircraft
installation.

CAUTION: Do not use duct tape or other tapes that can contain substances known to cause
damage to the furniture finish or leave residues.
Refer to the 650 Interior Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog and remove the
Cabin Storage Compartment Door.

1) Make sure all equipment located on affected shelf has been relocated and is available for
use.

Visually check operation of speed brakes prior to each takeoff and before lowering flaps for
landing.

During the flight control check in the Before Taxi checklist, verify both throttles can be moved
freely.

1) Flight crew shall brief the loss of low fuel quantity warning system on the affected side.
2) Flight crew shall monitor fuel balance during flight to make sure adequate fuel remains in
both wing fuel tanks for planned mission.

1. During preflight planning, increase the fuel required for the route to be flown by 10%. Also
plan the route so that the flight will last no longer than three hours while remaining within one
hour of a suitable airport at all points.
2. To achieve a known quantity in the affected tank, the tank may be emptied using Single-Point
defueling then fueled to a known quantity. It may be completely fueled, or fuel may be
transferred out of the tank until it is empty.
3. To track fuel use, operators may use a fuel log or develop their own procedure. This can
include matched fuel flow techniques, use of the FMS fuel quantity system or other means.
4. During flight, disconnect the autopilot every twenty minutes. Make sure a crew member has
control of the aircraft prior to disconnecting the autopilot. Check for any abnormal roll
tendencies. Check for roll trim required.
5. Re-engage the autopilot.

Pull and secure the LH HORIZ STAB and RH HRIZ STAB circuit breakers on the Pilots circuit
breaker panel.
NOTE: The blocking plate installation on the left and the right wing anti-ice pressure-regulating
shutoff valves is typical.
1) Fabricate a 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) thick blocking plate from Type 301, 1/2-hard stainless steel
of the applicable diameter.
2) Disconnect the bleed air tube upstream from the wing anti-ice pressure-regulating shutoff
valve. Refer to 650 Maintenance Manual Chapter 30, Wing Leading Edge Anti-Ice System -
Maintenance Practices.
3) Install the blocking plate on the wing anti-ice pressure-regulating shutoff valve, between the
valve and the bleed air tube.
4) Connect the bleed air tube to the wing anti-ice pressure-regulating shutoff valve. Refer to 650
Maintenance Manual Chapter 30, Wing Leading Edge Anti-Ice System - Maintenance
Practices.

NOTE: The Wing Root Cuff is activated by the ENG anti-ice switches.
NOTE: The blocking plate installation on the left and the right engine anti-ice pressure-regulating
shutoff valves is typical.
1) Fabricate a 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) thick blocking plate from Type 301, 1/2-hard stainless steel
of the applicable diameter.
2) Disconnect the bleed air tube upstream from the engine anti-ice pressure-regulating shutoff
valve. Refer to 650 Maintenance Manual Chapter 30, Engine Anti-Ice System - Maintenance
Practices.
3) Install the blocking plate on the wing anti-ice pressure-regulating shutoff valve, between the
valve and the bleed air tube.
4) Connect the bleed air tube to the wing anti-ice pressure-regulating shutoff valve. Refer to 650
Maintenance Manual Chapter 30, Engine Anti-Ice System - Maintenance Practices.

Install a Blocking Plate on the Windshield Bleed Air Anti-Ice Control Valve.
1) Fabricate a 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) thick blocking plate from Type 301, 1/2-hard stainless steel
of the applicable diameter.
2) Disconnect the bleed air tube upstream from the Windshield Anti-Ice valve. Refer to 650
Maintenance Manual Chapter 30, Windshield Anti-Ice - Maintenance Practices.
3) Install the blocking plate on the bleed air control valve, between the valve and the bleed air
tube.
4) Connect the bleed air tube to the unserviceable control valve. Refer to 650 Maintenance
Manual Chapter 30, Windshield Anti-Ice - Maintenance Practices.
Pull and secure the appropriate W/S circuit breaker on the Left circuit breaker panel.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
1. Log elapsed time of APU in aircraft logbook after each flight. This includes ground operation
times during any maintenance performed when the aircraft is not intended to fly.
2. Once the APU hour meter is repaired, place a placard next to the hour meter showing the
additional time accumulated while inoperative (e.g. “+ 14.2 hours”).
When not required to be in another position, select the Temperature Indicator Selector to the
SUPPLY position of the affected system and monitor temperature periodically throughout flight.

When not required to be in another position, select the Temperature Indicator Selector to the
SUPPLY position of the affected system and monitor temperature periodically throughout flight.
(O) One position annunciation may be inoperative provided affected generator voltage and
amperage is monitored.
OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
Throughout flight, monitor the affected generator’s voltage and amperage using the cockpit
indications.

ice accretion.
OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
The flight crew member with the operative light must be assigned responsibility for monitoring
the windshield for ice accumulation and alerted the other flight crew member.
1. With both batteries off and no generators running, select EMER LTS to ON.
2. Quickly verify the EXIT signs and the dropped aisle lighting near the main cabin door are
operative.
3. Select EMER LTS to OFF.

Crew briefings must include escape procedures for a windshear encounter and alternate
methods used for monitoring for windshear encounters.
NOTE: Landing gear warning system will function differently without radio altimeter input.

The navigation database can only be used for enroute and terminal navigation when out of
currency. Before using the FMS to navigate to a facility, verify the status, identifier, frequency
and lat/long position with an alternate, current source of information. Refer to the applicable
Airplane Flight Manual supplement for additional information.

MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
WARNING: While oxygen supports combustion, materials that will not normally flash in the
atmosphere will readily burn or explode in the presence of concentrated oxygen.
WARNING: Do not permit Smoking, open flame or potential sources of electrical sparks should
not be permitted near the airplane while maintenance is being performed on the
oxygen system. Make sure that all electrical power is disconnected and that the
airplane is properly grounded.
WARNING: Use extreme caution to make sure that all components are kept thoroughly clean of
oil, grease or solvent contamination. These or similar products may explode or
burn spontaneously when in contact with pure oxygen.
1. Access the oxygen bottle cylinder, cut safety wire on bottle neck valve, and turn oxygen
bottle OFF.
2. Slowly disconnect line from fill port to bottle at bottle neck and purge line of any oxygen.
3. Cap and/or plug any open lines.
4. Connect Oxygen cart hose to oxygen bottle ensuring a proper connection.
5. Station an additional qualified person in the copilot’s seat with the foul weather window open
for clear communications.
6. Turn Oxygen bottle ON and slowly begin to fill bottle. Once bottle has reached the proper
servicing pressure, turn Oxygen bottle valve OFF and turn OFF oxygen cart. Allow the bottle
to cool from thermal expansion for 30 minutes and recheck servicing pressure.
7. Once Oxygen bottle is properly serviced, slowly disconnect oxygen cart and re-connect all
oxygen lines.

Verify the affected pintle pin in stalled. Refer to 650 Maintenance Manual Chapter 35, Passenger
Masks – Maintenance Practices.
1. Remove the affected oxygen mask and drop-out panel. Refer to 560XL Maintenance Manual
Chapter 35, Passenger Masks – Maintenance Practices.
2. Disconnect the affected pintle pin from the mask and reinstall in the service valve.

NOTE: Refer to the appropriate Cessna Maintenance Manual and/or Interiors Manual for
information of the individual aircraft installation.
1. Pull and secure water heater circuit breaker. For lower vanity tank with pump, pull and secure
the drawer lights/water circuit breaker located on the interior electrical panel in the vanity.
2. Open/remove access panels from lower vanity or upper LH bulkhead closet as needed to
access tank.
3. Remove quick-disconnect fitting.
4. Remove canister and inspect for leaks and/or dampness. Empty canister if necessary.
5. Tape over canister lid and install placard on tank stating “DO NOT SERVICE”.
6. Re-install canister and access panels.

Using light compressed air, cloths, or other necessary materials or tools, allow the relief tube to
fully drain while on the ground. Remove any remaining liquid from the horn or drain tube.
1. Remove the upholstery adjacent to the externally serviceable flush toilet to get
access to the drain valve. Refer to the appropriate 650 Interiors manual.
2. Do the Servicing of the Externally Serviceable Flush Toilet (Manual Operation of
the Drain Valve Is Required).
3. During the servicing, use a second person inside the airplane to operate the drain
valve manually, when necessary.
4. Install the upholstery.
