Reflection Paper

The reasons on why I chose these particular sources was because they answered critical

questions that were related to my topic on human trafficking and modern slavery which they will

help be built upon for my further essays’. These particular sources helped me answer critical

questions like what is the current value of illegal trafficking worldwide? How much does it cost

to get an illegal service from and kid/women? Why is the united states in the top 10 destination

for human trafficking? Why is North Carolina a hot spot in for human trafficking? How many

people are victims to human trafficking?

The sources that I chose are mostly from the central piedmont community college library

database. Some of the other sources came from me doing my research and finding the best pick

that would help be built my essay. The process I chose to help me pick out my sources was

simple. I looked up key words and I would read some of the articles if it would match the

direction I wanted my essay to go it would be picked as one of my ten sources for my reflection

paper. Some of the keywords that I used to search up my topic on Opposing viewpoints in

context and ProQuest Central where “Human trafficking”,” sex trafficking”,” human rights”,”

state governments”. Keywords that weren’t successful where worlds like “Human trafficking in

North Carolina”. For those source, I had to look out of the central piedmont community college

library database

There are many tools that are available on ProQuest and Opposing viewpoints in context

that help me in my search. One way that it helped me narrow down all of the results was my

clicking on the academic journals and peer reviewed. By doing this it allowed me to only look at

and focus on articles and journals that were read and backed my others. ProQuest and Opposing

viewpoints in context also helped me age the paper I was looking at because I didn’t want

nothing older than 10 years because it would have been out of date and maybe not relevant. On

ProQuest, it let me pick certain locations of data that I would be reading for example in my

search I only wanted to see articles and journals that where relevant to North Carolina.

The whole process from finding to reading to understanding all of my sources took me

about 2-3 hours because I wanted to make sure that the sources I picked where were I visioned

on my essay going as a final product. What I learned from this process is that it can’t be rushed.

You have to take your time with it read about all of the articles that are related to your topic. You

have to vision on how you want your paper to go. If I could do it again I would probably spend

more time on picking sources because I know that there might be better sources with more

information than the ones I picked.
