To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great honor that I recommend Justin Bambach for the Stantec Summer Internship Program. Since you will be reviewing
Justin’s resume and work samples, the following information should help introduce his as well as convey my wholehearted
recommendation that he be offered this position.

I have worked with Justin in a variety of design courses at the University of Kentucky. I serve as his faculty advisor and he is a
teaching assistant for my design elective course in creative thinking. Both inside and outside the classroom he displays skills and
attributes that made his a wonderful student and promising professional. Justin possesses several attributes that will ultimately lead to
continued achievement and success.

Justin’s responsibility: Much of Justin’s character is shaped by a sense of responsibility. He maintains a strong commitment to test
knowledge through research and experience. Justin possesses a persistence that allows his to learn from mistakes. He preserves an
understanding that design is a process of learning and that learning comes from both success and failure. Justin is willing to fail if it
means that he will learn in doing so.

Justin’s commitment to excellence: Justin has an incredible thirst for knowledge and always goes beyond what is required of his to
explore multiple alternatives. It is often that he comes to me for additional readings or resources to further his knowledge. I find
myself amazed by his curiosity and excitement for learning.

Justin’s professional manner: Justin is one of the most pleasant and respectful students I have ever worked with. He is open to
criticism and strides toward perfection at every stage of the design process. Justin approaches each project with a strong purpose and
understanding that creativity often comes when you embrace constraints. He views constraints not as restrictions to creativity, but
rather as a stimulus to innovation. This approach has helped his develop a disciplined way of seeing what does not yet exist.

Justin’s spirit: As a student Justin approaches design in the same manner he approaches life. He lives as if he has an obligation to
pass on what he has learned to fellow students with the understanding that in the act of sharing knowledge with other he is enriching
his own perspective. Justin gives to others in so many ways both inside and outside the classroom and represents a truly altruistic
spirit.

Each of these principles reinforce what I know about Justin Bambach as a person. However, together all of these principles speak to
the fact that Justin will always possess the courage and passion to create his own dreams and then turn them into action. He would be a
fantastic choice for this position. Justin has my unqualified professional endorsement and my deepest personal respect. Please feel free
to contact me at any time if I can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Ryan A. Hargrove, PhD
