Assignment: Teaching Philosophy Essay

Teaching is a passion and an endeavor to help the minds of the future strive to
reach their highest potential so the very first thing I want to instill in my students is a love
for learning, not just when they are in the primary grade but for life.
I believe that School is a place in which the young child learns how to become
socially competent through the whole process of education. In order to do this, it is my
job to create a caring community of learners, a classroom in which every child feels heard
and important, where they feel they are safe and nurtured, an environment which
encourages sharing, working as a team, and learning to overcome problems that may arise
in positive ways. In short, my goal is to educate the whole child.
As an educator, it is my job to plan activities which will pick students’ interest,
motivate students to participate and want to learn more while also challenging them. I
also have known that not every child is at the same level to develop mentally, therefore it
is my responsibility to adapt my lessons when necessary according to the children’s
individual needs. My teaching philosophy is centered on the belief that I, as an educator,
I have the responsibility to ensure that my influence creates lifelong learners who are
prepared to grow and learn.
At the end of each year I want each child to leave my classroom with a lot of knew
knowledge and also a confidence in themselves, a good sense of self and a thirst for
learning more for the journey of learning should be fun, exciting, and as creative as our
imagination will allow it to be.
I will strive to provide learning experiences that caters to the diversity of my
students’ interests and use personal reflection to improve my practice and ensure that I
am able to adapt to the constant changes in Education.
