Maintenance Guideline
11 TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTE! Before starting the OHM tests turn the main power OFF and the test switch ON.
Symptoms
Rope gripper does not reset
(pump) in clamped position.
Elevator runs in the clamped
position.
Elevator does not run in primed
position.
Rope gripper does not reach
primed position or does not
hold the pressure.
Pump cycles ON and OFF.

Possible causes
Excessive wear microswitch
contact open, brake ready
microswitch contact open.
NOTE! If rotating shaft
activates the
excessive wear
microswitch, replace
the brake linings.
Refer to AS-
04.08.090.
Elevator can run microswitch
contact closed.
Valve microswitch contact
open or elevator can run
microswitch contact open.
Oil level is too low.
Air in the hydraulic system.
Hydraulic component leaks.
Brake ready switch is not
correctly adjusted.

Action
Connect multimeter probes to
RG3 and RG4. Check
adjustment of contact.
NOTE! The brake ready and
excessive wear
microswitches are
connected in series.
If fault is detected
between RG3 and
RG4, remove wirings of
the microswitches and
measure which one is
broken.
Replace the faulty switches.
Refer to AS-04.08.090.
Connect multimeter probes to
RG5 and RG6. Check
adjustment of contact.
Replace the faulty switches.
Refer to AS-04.08.090.
Connect multimeter probes to
RG6 and RG7 (valve switch)
RG5 and RG6 (elevator can
run switch). Check adjustment
of contact.
Replace the faulty switches.
Refer to AS-04.08.090.
Check the oil level.
Check the hydraulic
components. Replace leaking
components.
Add more oil if needed.
Bleed air from the hydraulic
system: Remove hose from the
cylinder. Use hand pump until
all air has come out.
Check the adjustment
according to section 9.
