DOAS TM

DENSITY ON A STICK
TANK DENSITY, LEVEL AND VOLUME METER
DOAS™ is a sensor typically installed in Pit Room Tanks
and Trip Tanks on drilling rigs to obtain real time mud
Density, Level and Volume data. The innovative design
involving submerged electronic diaphragms solves
measurement quality problems associated with tank
sloshing, tank agitation, and mud transfers causing
splashing, turbulence and foaming at the mud surface.
It can be operated in standalone mode and send data to
other systems, or it may be used in conjunction with
MezurX’s integrated FADS (Fluid Anomaly Detection
System) solution for comprehensive mud monitoring and
early kick detection.

TECHNOLOGY
Submersible pressure sensors, employing hydrostatic
measurements with intelligent signal processing algorithms

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Overcomes shortcomings of popular density and tank fluid
level sensors
» Multiple distributed sensors throughout mud tank height
allow determination of mud homogeneity and mud
mixing effectiveness
» Submerged sensors are unaffected by sloshing, heave,
splashing, surface foaming, mud fill up turbulence, tank
agitation
» Does not rely on sound or radar beams which may be
affected by tank structure obstructions and operational
activities
