Carrot Thoran

1 table spoon oil heated, with one or one and half garlic and little ginger cut into small pieces should be
fried. When it is golden brown, add one onion which is cut into really small pieces. Along with onion, put
two green chillies which are chopped in round pieces. After two or three minutes after onion is sauted (
no need to become golden brown), add three or four carrot.Add salt to taste. Mix well . Close the lid.
Cook on slow gas for 5-7 min.

2.Oats Bhel

One cup of oats should be fried on small gas ( till it turns little brown , at times it needn’t be even be
brown, the oats should be hot enough ). Then one onion cut into small pieces. One carrot-1/4, one
capsicum-1/3 small piece, one half of tomato into small pieces, green chilli- half, sald cucumber- half all
are in small pieces. All this mixed in tawa, when tawa is not on the stove. Salt to taste.Half lemon
squezzed on top of it.

3.Capiscum Fry

Capisicum are cut into big pieces, Onion is also cut into big pieces;

One tablespoon oil , Put garlic,wait for it to turn brown.after it is heated put onion and capisicum .Salt to
taste Fry it in oil. Put a little black pepper, chilli, garam masala. Stir and close the lid.

4.Theeyal with soya

Put the soya soaked in water for 6 hours. Vevikal the soya for three whistles. Put salt and kodampuli
piece in the cooker which will be used for vevikal of soya. Retain the water, put three to four spoons of
theeyal paste, then again give it a whistle.

5.Sweet potato

Don’t wait for first whistle. (or) put In hot water. Peel the sweet potato. Put oil, mustard,urid dal . Use
chilli powder, then chamanthi the sweet potato and add to it.

6.Parippu

3/4th moong dal, 3 glass of water, salt to taste, four green chilli, quarter spoon termic powder. Half
spoon oil . mis all ingredients and pressure cook to 2/3 whistles.

7.Sambhar

3/4th toor dal,3 glass of water, pressure cook for 3 or 4 whistles ( the toor dal should be smashed up ).
When the pressure goes off, smash the dal with a laddle and add vegetables along two tomatoes,salt.
Again whistle once. In a bowl take two and half sambhar powder and add is added in cold water.Then
added to presuure cooker and mix well and let it boil.

8.Pongal

Fry the ¾ cup of mung dal,take ¾ cup of rice. Wash rice and mung dal together. Put it in the pressure
cooker, put salt,jeera,pepper (10-15), Add one spoon oil.5 and half cups of water. Pressure cook for
three whistles. After first whistle slow the gas.
9.Macrowni

Two table spoon of oil,heat it and tke it from the stove, one teaspoon of ginger garlic,chilli
powder,garam masala and one half of turmeric powder and saute it. Then add one and half onion cut
into small pieces. Fry for some time ,add three big tomatoes finely chopped into it ( one and half cup of
tomato puree),then put salt and mix well. Saute for 5-7 minutes ,then one cup of macrowani , mix well
and heat it well. Add two cups of water mix wel and close the cooker. Cook for twenty-twenty five
minutes in slow gas ( time is calculated after steams from thet op ). .IMP: not to put the weight on the
pressure cooker

10.Oats with Honey

Just heat the one cup of oats, as it starts turn brown, take it away. Put enough honey (2 one half table
spoon) add groundnut.

11.Potato-onion Fry

Potato and onion should be sliced lengthwise. May be two qual. Then oil+mustard+ one and half
teaspoon chilli powder. Onion and potato are put in together. Then add salt. Add a little turmeric
powder. Mix well and add a little water. Close the Lid.

12.Tomato Fry

Four onion are cut in lengthwise. Tomato- four to five,cut into small pieces. Two pieces green chillies
sliced in the lengthwise, a piece og ginger, and garlic.

Put oil, then garlic and ginger should be turned brown.Put greem chillies and onion. Then when it turns
near brown. Add Black pepper powder- ¼ tea spoon, and ¼ chilli powder and pinch of turmeric powder,
a pinch of coriander powder, jeera powder a pinch. Mix well and add tomato. Then add salt to taste.
Close the lid , do it in small gas.tomato neednot be too cooked .

13.Cabbage thoran

Cabbe should should sliced along the lengthwise

One teaspoon oil, add one or two garlic and ginger. Turn golden brown. Add three to green chilli in
round shape. Add a quarter spoon of turmeric powder. Immediately add cabbage. And mix it well. Close
the lid and sprinkle water if needed. Add salt when it is half done. Then close and cook for some more
time.

14.French Beans thoran

Cut into real small pieces. Add salt and a little water and Boil it in microwave for 6 minutes ( take it out
in third minute and mix again ).

Heat oil and mustard,chilli powder. Immedietly add cooked French beans and keep on the gas for two or
three minutes,sprinkle some water.
15. Godamb dosa

1 cup wheat flour mix with 1 cup water. Make sure it thick, along with salt. Keep it for half an hour.
Make sure lumps are not formed. Carrot scrapped, onion cut into small halves, 2 green chillies. Heat the
pan , put oil and fry two sides.

16. Dal fry

One cup moong dal should be cleaned. Add salt and give two whistles. Two green chillies to be cut in
small pieces. Two pieces of garlic, one piece of ginger. One oinion to be cut in small. Put oil, mustard
(less) and jeera ( jeera to be more ),add garlic and ginger,when it nearly turn brown, then add chilli. Put
onion. Fry till golden brown. Put the cooked dal, add water if necessary

17. Horse gram curry

Horse gram should be kept in water for 6 hours. Clean it. Put it in cooker, put enough salt water
should be one inch more than the horse gram and wait for four whistles. Put oil, mustard , one and half
teaspoon chilli powder, then add horse gram . Then one whistle.

18. red dal fry

One cup of dal and two cups of water.Add salt, a little oil. Pressure cook for two whistles. Then heat
oil, mustard and jeera. One onion finely sliced, three green chillies sliced round, Sauste for a few
minutes,need not become golden vrown. Add cooked dal mix well on the stove,let it be cooked for one
or two min. ,check the taste

19. Schnell Oothappam

1 cup rava

1 cup yogurt

¼ cup baking soda

Salt.

Mix these to a thick batter. Put chopped tomato,cattot,onion,capsicum chillipwerderon batter

Put oil on the tava. Cook well on both sides

20. Potato Umman

Boil 4 or 5 potatoes, give three whistles. Let it cool. Clean the potato. Mash two apotatoes and cut the
rest of them. Two tomtoes cut into 1/8 th size ( medium sized ones ). Heat the oil in pressure
cooker,Add mustard seeds, add two tea spoons of chilli powder. Add the cut tomatoes, saute for two
minutes. Add cooked potatoes, add two cups of water. Pressure cook for two whistles.

22. Brown lentil curry(Masoor)

Soak the masoor for three or four hours in water. For a cup of masoor three cups of water, add salt.
Pressure cook for three whistles,put two drops of oil. Heat one table spoon of oil,mustard, add garlic
(one or two), one and half finely sliced onion. After three minutes, add tomato(big), 1/8 th size. After
fried, put two teaspoon of chilli powder, three tea spoon of coriander powder ( or four ), suate for one
or two minutes,. Put this cooked mixture in cooker. Add a water. Stir well. Check taste, then put for one
whistle.

23.Chana Dal Curry

Soak one cup of chana dal in water. Heat oil in pressure cooker ,mustard (1/2 tea spoon ), 2 tea spoon
chilli powder, put the dal into it. For one cup of dal, four cups of water. Add salt. Mix well. Get four
whistles.

24. Chole Curry

One cup of channa is taken and kept it water for 8 hours. This is then put in a cooker and water is filled
little more than the amount if channa and wait till five whistles. Make sure to check the channa is well
cooked.

Cut two onions in medium shapes and two tomatoes in medium shape as well. Put 1 Tbsp oil and put
some cumin seeds, after it splutters put the onion and then add salt. Wait for it turn slightly brown.
After that, put ¼ tsp of turmeric powder and 1 Tbsp of ginger garlic paste along with 3 chopped green
chillies, let it fry for a couple of minutes. After that put the tomatoes and two or three Tbsp of channa
masala. Let it fry till tomatoes are squashed well and then let it cool. After which the entire mixture is
made into a puree.

The puree is then mixed with channa and some more water is added and mixed well. After this, one
more whistle, it is done.

25. Cheera with dal

Cook Toor dal with salt and chilli powder (two whistles I guess)

Cut cheera into thin portions. Take 7 shallots (or one onion or half shallot and rest onion), chilli flakes(or
chilli powder). Crush the shallots along with chilli powder. Then add shredded coconut to the crushed
mix.

dd half a tsp of oil, a little mustard and a couple of green chillies, after it splutters add
the crushed mix. Add salt, be cautious while adding salt as cheera is very sensitive. Once it
is cooked ,add cheera. Cook for 3 minutes or so. Add dal till you need then heat for some
more time .

26.Podimas
Boiled potatoes -3, one big onion cut lengthwise-1; Green chilli-4; Urid dal-1/4 tsp ; Cumin
seeds – ½ tsp ;Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp ; Channa dal (Bengal gram dal)(if we dont have,even
toor dal will do)- 1 tsp ; Turmeric powder – a little more than ¼ tsp .

Heat 1 tbsp of oil, add urid dal and channa dal. After it gets fried add cumin seeds and
mustard seeds. After it splutters put onion, add salt and green chillies. The onions need
not be cooked well. After that add turmeric powder. Then smashed potatoes. Add water
to keep it not from cooking. Boil from some time and it is done.
