On-the –Job Training is one of our training grounds, it gives us an idea on what is meant
to be a worker and give a hint of career realities. It will give an individual since of confidence;
they can use when applying for a job and help everyone make inform career choices. OJT is just a
taste of what you want to be in the near future. This will lead you in preparing for a formal job.

We, the student of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of Bais Campus I,
should undergo On-the-Job Training (OJT) as part of our course requirement for the subject
PRACTICUM 142, for the 2nd Semester, School year 2017-2018 on rotation basis every two (2)
weeks from 7 to 11am. There were five (5) agencies that we were going to rendered duty. These
agencies are the Philippine National Police (PNP), Traffic Management Office (TMO), NORSU
Bais Campus I and II, and lastly, the Office of the Civil Security group. We were entitled to render
duty in every agency for seven (7) days with a maximum number of thirty two (32) hours because
Saturday and Sunday are excluded for the number of days. We only rendered duty from Monday
to Friday.

In the day of our OJT at Bais city Police station, dated January 26 2018 me and my co-
interns was separated in different section of PNP Bais City Police Station, I and Ebasan Edmar
was assigned at the desk section. In that day, the duty personnel at desk section give us a work to
made a blotter report, while we seated beside the desk officer and we observed, and the duty
personnel shows us how to make a blotter report.

On the next day, the marcher formed the group to sign in for our attendance to be checked,
and then I and my co-intern Allan Kabristante proceeded of our assigned section. Intelligences
offices I’ve learn a lot how intelligences work and also encourage us to be police someday.
On the second rotation of our on-the –Job Training (OJT), I and my co-intern was assigned
at the investigation/WCCD Section human rights appears office, mw and my co interns is assigned
to clean inside the police station after we finished we call our attention to SPO1 Tito Abanto that
me and my co-intern is take post at the entrance gate we wait for the dismissal.

The Bais City Police Station was conducting a campaign against the illegal use of drugs
that we are witnessing their campaign. SPO1 Martin Tevis explained to us about the effects of
illegal drugs in our life. Then he give assignment about our course subject like what is criminology,
arrest, criminal investigation, investigation, felony, and offense and also, the scenarios as a police
investigator what is the first thing to do until filing a case. He discuss also what are the work of an
investigator and how important investigation is, and he taught us what are the prepare steps in
investigating the suspect.

On the last day of our on-the-Job Training, we decided to have a rotation in order to know
the different sections work, I and Edmark Ebasan was assigned in the radio with officer in charge
he oriented two of us about the abbreviations and he also taught on how to use the radio, the most
interesting is, in every Police Station has a symbol number. Then, we heard every Police Station
in Negros Oriental in delivering messages. We had so many lessons that we gathered about the
techniques to pass the board examination and he also shared of us about the knowledge that he
learned as a Police personnel, he encourage of us to study very well of our lessons. While we were
inside the radio section asked a question by the different sections.

Therefore I conclude that the members of the PNP in Bais City Police Station was so
effective in community relation as well as securing of property and lives of everyone in the society
and they want to shared their knowledge to the criminology intern that someday the future law
enforcement had an idea on how to handle a situation and ways to solve it and to become a good
law enforcement officers someday.

The experience that we had in our On-the-Job training (OJT) here in the Philippine
National Police (PNP) is a great pleasure to be part of their agency and for allowing us to render
our duty. We gained so much knowledge or information about their responsibilities and duties,
sharing to us their experience of their worked we learned a lot how police personnel work in the
Bais City Police Station.
